IRGC: outdated weapons
During the retaliatory strike against Israel, Iran used only outdated missile weapons, thus Tehran forced—with minimal effort—Israel and the armed forces of Western countries that came to its aid to use maximum measures. Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran, announced this on Thursday, Tasnim reported.
"We attacked Israel using outdated weapons and minimal resources. (…). By making minimal efforts on our part, we forced Israel and the Western camp to use maximum means," stressed the head of the elite units of the Iranian armed forces. (AM News)
This supports my analysis of the Iranian strike on Israel and media exaggeration.
Media dissonance
Why all the hoopla about hypersonic missiles and MIRVs and other advanced ballistic missiles? Some of it coming from the Iranian media!
From the American and Israeli side, inflating the size of the strike and the capabilities of the weapons, helps them patch up the myth of Israeli – and therefore American— invincibility. They need this to distract from the multiple plotholes in the Official Narrative.
After the murder of Gen. Soleimani, the Iranians demonstrated their ability to penetrate American defenses with a precision missile strike—which the Americans knew was coming—but could not prevent. The Iranian strike on Israel was the same tact — without using their most advanced weaponry.
But the US and Israel have a huge investment in the story that the Israeli Defense system, put together a great cost, using American technology and assistance, is 99% effective in dealing with all threats.
Last October, Hamas demonstrated that the system could be overwhelmed and demolished the myth of Israeli—and therefore American — military invincibility.
Now the Iranians have once again demonstrated their ability to make precision strikes—in this case on Israeli territory, including intelligence headquarters—which means accuracy within meters.
Not only with, as the general says, "outdated weapons and minimal resources"—but without civilian casualties. Only one person died — likely from shrapnel from Israeli rocket fire. The contrast with Israeli attacks on Gaza is shockingly obvious.
Still, why would the Iranian media talk about hypersonic missiles, and so on, contradicting official IRGC statements? Did the government not tell them what to say, as in the US?
Perhaps, the Iranians wanted to remind the world that they have these weapons and can use them if need be. There is deterrent value in this.
As I wrote earlier, the Iranians are using the Russian strategic playbook—as well as perhaps Russian technical advice in the development of advanced weapons.
When the Russians strike, they use swarms of drones first. Then missiles for maximum damage with precision targeting.
Part of a strike, however, is to gather intelligence as to the capabilities, locations, and vulnerabilities of air defense systems which are decoyed by drones and other projectiles. (Link provided by Occupy Schagen) This allows the Russians to hone their offensive capabilities for greater and greater efficacy—hitting every kind of military and industrial infrastructure.
I think that recent retaliation strike by Israel on Iran supports my speculations.
First of all, Israel wa
s not confident enough to claim it was their strike. Secondly, it was a drone strike. They might as well have used trained pigeons.
The Iranians claim they shot down all the drones. The Israelis, of course, did not counterclaim.
In other words, when Dmitry Orlov says the Americans are afraid (“don’t hurt us, please”), he may be right! And if the Americans are afraid, the Israeli military at least should be more so-- Israeli politicians aside.
But the Russians do not want war. The Chinese do not want war. The Iranians do not want war.
In fact, the Americans and the Israelis do not want war either —not against anyone who can fight back, that is.
Bullies fight only when they are sure they can win.
While the Russians, Chinese, and Iranian focus 9on economic and social growth and development, the US and Israel gave up on that a long time ago – and keep afloat through neocolonial exploitation.
In America's case it has new colonies are Europe. Israel’s are Palestine.
This will not change anytime soon.
Just remember not to believe everything you read – although I suppose that applies to what I write too!

Great one again...
"Bullies fight only when they are sure they can win."...
And so sometimes they make a mistake... And then they get a beating, like in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Ukraine...
But what keeps me awake mostly is the way Satanyahu & CO try to organise a reason for them to Nuke Iran. Because that is what it looks like according to Cassandra (72.5% She says).
If i was the Iranians, i should've created some 4 or 5 Nukes from the Enriched Uranium (U-235) they have been stockpiling recent years, to counter an Israeli Nuke strike. They need 45kg 90% U235 for each bomb, when the wind is from the east. Three would be enough too: Haifa, Tel Aviv and Dimona (the one Israeli Reactor).
But Cassandra suggests Iran has done that already (35%). They could've had help from Pakistan... Relations between Iran and Pakistan improved after the removal of the Taliban in 2002, but still some tensions remain.
Well... we'll see...
