About to Explode?
The ME Bomb
As you can see from this video which I did yesterday, Syria is a mess. No wonder that al Sharaa has been Moscow begging for help.
Al Sharaa is now the internationally recognized President of Syria, which doesn’t mean much since he really controls a fraction of what Assad did, with the Turks and their Uzbek and Uighur allies to the north, the Kurds to the East and the Druze, anti-HTS groups, and the Israelis to the South, and, of course, the Christians and Alawites sheltering near the Russian bases on the coast. Add to that —his power base, a gang of bloodthirsty crazies.
HTS’s reign is likely to be short-lived. Syria will indeed explode!
What exactly did al Sharaa want?
The media suggest he wanted the Russians hand over Assad to HTS – which they are never going to do! Everybody knows that— including al Sharaa – except of course the media who never seem to know anything..
What now?
Does the former terrorist want the Russians to pitch in and fight alongside HTS, against its numerous enemies?
Nope, he’s not that stupid. And it’s not going to happen either.
Does he need assurances they won’t support any other Syrian group against him. Not to worry Russia doesn’t want to get involved.
But Russia does want to keep its bases on the Mediterranean Sea. They are not as strategically important as they once were—but still could be useful in the unforeseeable future.
It is also not happy about HTS’s attacks on Alawites and Christians.
Keep in mind that, if Russia really wants to keep those bases, HTS is not strong enough to take them.
Al Sharaa’s forces mostly use Russian weapons taken from the Syrian military so it needs supplies, given all the fighting recently and Israeli air strikes as well.
Similarly, it would like diplomatic support from UN agencies and other places. Here, Russia can help.
However, there is nothing that Russia can do that will prevent the unavoidable violence to come. The fuse is lit. The bomb will go off.
Israel?
A wildcard is Israel – whose policies are increasingly erratic, with the end of the cease-fire in Gaza and the continuation of fighting there, not to mention Israeli moves in the West Bank. The fan is spinning shit.
It would seem that the Israeli attack on Iran is off for the time being-- thanks to Russian and Chinese support for Iran’s air defenses , which pretty much guarantee a massive defeat for any American/Israeli attack. The Israelis had been hoping to attack before the Iranians could boost their defenses. But….
Russia, he (Rybakov) said, now considers all pre-2015 U.N. sanctions on Iran, snapped back by the European signatories of the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) — the United Kingdom, France, Germany — “annulled.” Moscow will deepen its military-technical cooperation with Tehran accordingly….
And what Russia has to offer is considerable.
Of course, Israel can attack Hezbollah , but it has been quietly strengthening its capabilities and is much stronger than at the time of the ceasefire that wasn’t. A major attack bu Israel might undermine the ZioTerrorists’ efforts in southern Lebanon.
They can focus on Yemen but the Houthis will keep on coming no matter what— and they are increasingly well armed and capable. Each Israeli or American attack on them makes them more determined to get revenge.
So Israel will continue its war on Palestine, both Gaza and the West Bank and try to take as much of southern Syria as it can, taking advantage of the chaos there.
An appeal from Chappy
Gas bills have gone up again and kibble too!

Ever so slightly off topic, what is your opinion regarding: 1) your first female elected PM in Japan and 2) If and when all of this finally ignites and possible WWIII how will Japan factor into all of this with her at the helm? Or will nothing have changed?
Thanks for your great work!
