Here is Brian Berletic giving a prognosis for Russia and the Ukraine.
I LIKE Brian Berletic. Not only like-- respect. That is not just because he often agrees with me, as in this video — I don’t always agree—I like and respect him because— agree or disagree— he has a certain genius.
He is former military— but not a once upon a time officer like Davies, or McGregor or Ritter or Wilkerson or Jacques Baud—who are popular online - -a testament I suppose to credentialism and their conformity with “mainstream” Alt Media narratives.
Or maybe it is about having letters in front of your name - or after it….
As I mentioned the other day, Mercouris often defers to “military experts”— just as he defers to guys with PhDs from prestigious universities, providing of course, they agree with him. Poor Gen. Mark Milley. Just sayin’.
Berletic doesn’t have a letters before or after his name— at least none that he mentions — but —for the most part— he is right more often than many of those famous names.
Like military training, academic training teaches a narrow focus and is often derivative. Too often you get ahead by knowing the “right” things to say—in the “right” way.
If you want followers in the media, you need to obey the same rules.
Brian Berletic, however, is a thinker—something a lot of people claim to be, but few actually are. “BB” as I think of him, is also a critical thinker - which means constantly questioning, constantly exploring.
He always had principles and he has never compromised them. And those principles seem to guide his analysis.
You will notice that he does not post every day, like some people – the Duran boys, Larry Johnson et al. But pay attention when he does post. He does his homework.
What kind of person is he?
This man joined the Marine Corps at 17 and fixed electro-optical equipment. He was stationed first in Japan – in Okinawa, never even close to combat. But he is a polymath and autodidact – self taught –in a range of fields— and a superb military analyst,.
He doesn’t have a military pension because he quit the MC at the start of the Iraq War in protest, six months short of his four year contract. He’s a marine corps dropout.
Yes, character and integrity matter . His life story is testament to that.
I recommend you follow him.
Chappy
You will notice that I did not change Chappy’s name. That's because when he arrived I realized that he knew his name as "Chappy"—so I got used to it. And somehow, as time went on, it fit.
On the other hand, I think I should change MY name. Suggestions?
I am very surprised at how fast Chappy is adapting-- I had expected it would take three or four months to get to where he is now—especially considering all the trauma he has had to endure. He trusts me a little more each day.
Right now, I'm trying to figure out when he will trust me enough to let me cut his nails which are very long and razor-sharp! He is very careful with his nails when he plays – but in their current state, he can still do some damage.
Why do I do this? Care for small animals, I mean.
Maybe because the world is a mess and I wish I could do something to make it better but I know that I can't. On the other hand, even small things count.
In this photo Chappy is sleeping on what used to be Jet’s bed. Yesterday was one year since Jet died and I took him to the Temple,
I miss you, Jet! Ichi does, too,
Although you can't see him, Ichi is right next to where Chappy is resting — at the top of the cat tree where he can keep a eye on Little Bro’. (And me also), Chappy follows Ichi everywhere and imitates him . He, of course, doesn't defer to me— I'm just the servant.
In the photo you will notice that one of Chappy's ears is notched. This indicates that he was picked up as a kitten or young cat and neutered and then returned to the street-- a policy, which many cities and towns in Japan subsidize.
Buy us -Chappy, Ichi and me - coffees, please. The Special Article is on its way—the first of three.
Special Article (Essay or Essai?)
I am working a shortening it down from 11,000 words to something manageable. But as I edit and rewrite, I also re-think and I think it gets better. And I am learning a lot.
Totally agree with your assessment of Brian Berlic. Huge fan of him.. Like to add that he is very humble and also very empathetic.
Back when he was in the army during the Bush Jr “war on terror” years, Brian wanted to know the “enemy” better. So, he read the Quran cover to cover. That was the pivotal moment when he became absolutely convinced what the US gov said about Muslims were all lies and that the war was based on lies.
