BRICS, Leaks, and Israeli Attacks

The BRICS Summit has begun, largely ignored by the Western media, or dismissed by experts as unlikely to seriously challenge Western financial hegemony.
That said, it is a huge victory for Russia and China – and also for Iran – and the entire Global South, which now sees a roadmap to an alternative financial system--what for Michael Hudson is the equivalent of a new Bretton Woods.
A key provision of BRICS membership is that BRICS members cannot comply with American or European sanctions against other BRICS members. Of course, this provision also forces BRICS members to trade in local currencies rather than using the dollar or Western financial networks. This workaround for evading sanctions will boost trade on the one hand, and be more cost-effective.
Russia has proven a country can do very well despite thousands of sanctions and outside the Western financial system. lf, of course, it has something to sell.
The US is not the heart of the world economy anymore.
As I've written elsewhere, Eurasia is the Heartland and the Heartland controls the world.
Of particular note was the meeting between Modi and Xi putting border disputes on hold in favor of economic collaboration.
But this is just the beginning. It will be a month or six weeks before concrete proposals are put to BRICS members. That will coincide obviously with the US election-- so the incoming president whoever it is – at this point probably Trump – will have something to think about.
The “Leak” and Israeli attacks
Someone in the US government leaked Israeli plans for air launched missile attacks on Iranian air defense systems and radar sites.
Nobody knows who of course. And it is clear that this was very high-level, super classified information. So, it wasn’t an incontinent White House janitor.
Larry Johnson suggests that this information was not available to Five Eyes members.
Australia, New Zealand and Canada now realize they are being cut off from certain information. They are second class citizens within the Five Eyes conglomeration.
I suspect this is going to generate some uncomfortable and unwelcome questions from Aussie, Kiwi and Canuck intel officials, who now have proof that they are not fully apprised of all relevant intelligence pertaining to Israel’s preparations for attacking Iran.
My sources in Canada say differently. Five Eyes does not share everything --nor do Five Eyes members expect or want everything to be shared.
The Canadians don't give all their secrets to be the Americans and they expect the Americans to do the same.
If the Brits knew, as Johnson says, that's only because the Israelis wanted them to know. They wouldn't want this kind of information spread over the entire intelligence sharing network. CIA, MI6, but not Dudley Do-Right.
Maybe I am wrong, of course. But— if you are planning a military operation of this kind, it has to be above top secret, and you don't want the crucial details spread over the entire Anglosphere.
It is most likely, as Alastair Crooke has said, that someone in the US government didn't want WWIII or the total destruction of Israel—at least not before the election.
