Moldova voted. Or rather some people did. A lot weren’t allowed to.
Moldova’s ruling party got 50.2% of the vote, with the opposition getting 49.8% . Yet PAS ranked second or even third at many stations inside the country.
Ok…..so I failed second year arithmetic Seems the Moldova electoral authorities did, too. .
A democratic election?
The EU started its campaign long before the election and they were determind by hook or by crook..
Moldova sentences leader of autonomous Gagauzia region to 7 years in prison
‘This is a political reprisal, planned and executed on orders from above,’ says Gagauzia Governor Evghenia Gutul, vowing to challenge verdict over channeling money to banned political party
It seems Ms. Gutul had channeled Russian donations to political parties before they were banned.
But is there a double standard for political donations?
Criminal!
EU backs Moldova’s Sandu with €50m in new funds
US pledges $135 million in aid to Western-leaning Moldova to counter Russian influence
And these assholes won’t even buy me a $5.00 coffee!
In this election, the “hook and crook” part was ever so obvious.
Moldova bans pro-Russian parties ahead of Sunday’s election (Al Jazeera)
Opposition parties such as “Heart of Moldova” and “Great Moldova” were struck from the race days before the election—although these parties are not so much “pro-Russian” as “neutral”, nationalist parties, who don’t want to turn the country over to Romania. But why nitpick? They represent onlys actually about 70% of the population, according to non-Western polls.
Still….
“Inside the country, the opposition — all opposition parties that entered parliament — received more votes than the current Moldovan authorities,” the leader of the Party of Socialists within The Patriotic Electoral Bloc says.
Abuses, abuses, abuses
Abusisve if not illegal use of administrative resources by Maia Sandu’s government.
Residents of Transnistria with Moldovan passports were prevented from voting with bridges blocked for fake roadwork.
In any case, in Transnistria, 362,000 eligible voters were allocated only 20,000 ballots and 12 polling stations, compared to 301 for Europe, leaving fewer than 5 percent able to vote.
False bomb threats at polling stations in Moldova and abroad/
In Russia, with hundreds of thousands of Moldovans live, only two polling stations were opened and ballots not counted.
In Italy, France, Germany, and Romania, ballot boxes were reportedly nearly full within the first hour of voting, with videos circulating of the same groups casting ballots multiple times.
Within the country there were attempts to intimidate voters with hundreds of searches and arrests of opposition representatives on the eve of voting— and expulsion of observers.
With just over 50% of the vote, the PAS may now secure 55 of 101 seats in parliament thanks to the electoral system. But, rewritten in the ruling party’s favor.
What kind of “democracy “ is this?
Sounds like the US.
However, the Sandu government has clearly no legitimacy so NATO is talking about sending in troops to prevent more “Russian interference”, like vodka and borscht or whatever. O
Of course, the Romanian fascists just want to annex Moldova — and Transnistria.
But look at the map.
The Russians are closing off supply routes to Kherson,Nikolaiv and Odessa. And they can also launch punitive air and missile strikes if need be. But NATO will not be able to get their act together until early next year, by which time, the alliance will be in a much weaker position.
Those orange “cogs” in the amap are military pressure points. As you can see, while shutting down supply lines to Odessa and Mykolaiv the Russians are preparing to re-take Kherson City and the west bank of the Dnipro.
As for Romania, the current government is deeply unpopular due to corruption and bureaucracy. GDP growth is stronger than the rest of the EU but the economy is overheated with high inflation and debt, headed for a crash early next year. Somehow I don’t see them doing a war.
 Coffee….
OK….I’m pissed off the Americans and EU try to bribe everyone else - just not me! Discrimination! No coffee for me! I looked in the mirror. My skin is pink. What do they have against Pink People? There is no “P” in LGBTQ.
And please recommend us to others I almost made it to 4, 220 subscribers. Almost. I just need a couple more.
Longevity Notes
One of my coffeebuyers asked me about arthritis. There are two kinds — osteoarthritis which is the result of the war and tear on cartilage as a result of physical activity — and rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune condition. Paleo peoples suffered from osteoarthritis from physical activity but almost no rheumatoid arthritis. We suffer from most and for us osteoarthritis can be even more debilitating.
Hunter-gatherers were consistently active throughout their lives. This leads to joint wear, but it also builds strong muscles that support the joints.
By contrast , modern lifestyles often involve long periods of inactivity (sitting) . To make up for this we go to the gym for bouts of intense, often improper, exercise, which is hard on joints.
Hunter-gatherers ate a diet of wild plants, lean game, and fish, which was anti-inflammatory and kept them lean. Obesity was virtually unheard of.
Again, we’re different. Processed carbs, sugars, and certain fats are highly inflammatory. Obesity puts a lot of stress on knees/hips) and high uric acid causes gout.
Hunter-gatherers carried all sorts of parasites and microbes, which trained their immune systems. This is why many autoimmune conditions respond to helminth (worm) therapy, including MS and Crohns.
Avoid arthritis? Lose weight. Eat simple. Avoid processed foods. Eat lots of fermented foods. Kefir. Sauerkraut, natto and oligosaccharides. Stay active.

Just to clarify some historical facts. Moldova is a region of Romania and they speak Romanian. If you don't believe me, use Google translate. The eastern part of Moldova, today's Republic of Moldova, was occupied on and off by the Russian empire from 1812 to 1917 when it returned to Romania by way of parliament vote. Soviet Union took it again as part of the non-aggression pact with Nazi Germany, along with other territories that are now part of Ukraine. Despite significant ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Bolshevik regime, the majority of the population is still linguistically and culturally Romanian. That's not to say they are the only ethnicity; there are others living there as well, just like in any other place on this planet (Tatars, Bulgarians, Russians, Ukrainians, etc.). I think it's only natural that it would join Romania, although preferably under different circumstances, not as part of a (yet another) western campaign against the Slavs.
So much similarities between Canada and Moldova. Canada was a region of one British colony and their people speak the same language as the United States. The British ensured they did not become part of the USA after the American Revolution. Screw all that history. Why are we objecting when Donald Trump wants to make them the 51st State,
