Patrick Lancaster
Go to Patrick Lancaster’s substack page and take a look.
Lancaster has done an amazing job. Among other things, he had provided extensive coverage of Ukrainian atrocities, not just in Kursk but in the Donbass, as well— putting his own life on the line.
Those responsible for those crimes will be held accountable — there will be no forgiveness as there was for the Azovs in Istanbul.
Killing not so softly
Putin is already annihilating all UAF forces who do not surrender. It is a Turkey shoot. You can run but you cannot hide.
There are a couple of things to remember. The regular UAF forces are elite groups, including much touted NeoNazi brigades responsible for any number of war crimes against Russian soldiers and civilians.
Russia has made clear that while they will obey the rules of war, those people who have committed crimes on Russian soil will be tried as terrorists under Russian law and punished to the full extent of the law.
Mercenaries, of course, are not protected the international law at all.
Putin’s answer to Trump’s appeal for mercy was clear. He will give the UAF soldiers a chance to surrender. It’s a one-time offer—if they do not surrender they will be killed, If they do surrender, they will dealt with, case by case, in Russian courts.
So there will be trials and tribunals, retribution and justice— setting a precedent for later when the Kiev regime falls.
Outnumbered but winning
Another interesting aspect to Kursk is that the Russian forces were actually outnumbered by the Ukrainians.
The RUF prevailed through:
a.) advanced weaponry, including airpower, drones, and the like
b.) better training and coordination in combined arms operations
c.) innovation and professionalism
The Russians are learners. Their military has made lots of mistakes , but . unlike NATO, the US and Ukraine they do not double down on mistakes, they learn from them and adapt.
The next steps are taking the Sumy region, which will put them just 70 kilometers from Kiev They will also take Kharkov.
Ukrainian atrocities and American and European threats have hardened the resolve of the Russian people who I doubt will be satisfied with anything less than unconditional surrender.
Will Trump change?
Will Trump get the message? Probably not.
In 2000, I thought it was a toss-up between Trump and Biden in more ways than one— e there was ultimately not much to choose. At that time I said Biden would be Trump 2.0. Now I have been saying Trump is Biden 2.0.
In any case, let us applaud Patrick Lancaster for his courage and commitment.
Chappy in the morning
It was cold last night— so Ichi got under the covers. Naturally, Chappy had to imitate. One on the left arm; one on the right arm. A Combined Arms operation!
You can buy Chappy coffee HERE. Also, for Ichi— and even me.
It's the amount of foreigners or so called mercenaries, surrounded in Kursk. That has the West really showing how desperate they are. For Trump to even mention the invaders of Russia. Never mind asking for their mercy, proves beyond any doubt. Who the Russians have got encircled. Patrick Lancaster, who has been fantastic over the course of the SMO. Has been exposing the horrific war crimes committed against Russian civilians. By the invaders & their Western colleagues. That's the obvious reason President Putin stated, all AFU fighters will be tried as terrorists. He also made it clearer what was to happen to any foreign "mercenaries" caught. Russia isn't going to allow any of these AFU or "mercenaries" free to be held by anyone . After Erdogan released those caught in Mariupol after going back on the deal with the Russians. Big mistake by the Russians, one of many they've made. With their misguided atitude of wanting to trust any of these bandits. Call it being naive, call it being stupid. But if Russia goes along with anything now, after everything that's happened. There's no hope for them.
"Another interesting aspect to Kursk is that the Russian forces were actually outnumbered by the Ukrainians".
As were the Carthaginians outnumbered by the Romans at Cannae. They just got in each other's way.
