I have a lot to thank you all for.
My articles have gotten a lot of attention recently. That’s one thing . I have thank people writing comments and correcting me when I am wrong. I learn so much from you.
As an aging, 78 year old stranger in a strange land (Japan), “on the spectrum” LOL — still learning to tie shoelaces, I get by, as the song goes, with help from my friends—YOU!
The interaction, comments, messages, criticisms, coffees from you — makes me think that maybe, just maybe there is hope.
In Japan, people light lanterns to hope. For a moment, a beautiful moment, they are all together as one. Tanabata is held on the 7th day of the 7th month celebrates the triumph of love over time and distance.
You transcend time and distance.
Thanks especially to all those who responded to help Chappy buying coffees, which contribute to paying for his medical treatment. The standard treatment for this worm is praziquantel, which is a standard anti-parasitic drug—but in dosages up to 6x stronger in the case of this worm! It’s very expensive here in Japan.
Let’s just say coffee is a lantern. Thank you. Each lights my life and Chappy’s and Ichi’s.
I am still providing links to coffee buyers for the last five “special articles”, which are a kind of political anthropology and provide intellectual context for the articles I write
If you bought coffee but did not get the links, please let me know.
I cannot use Substack’s subscription system due to their computer problems with Stripe, so, if you want to support me and Ichi and Chappy, please buy us coffee at the buymeacoffee site HERE.
And even if you don’t buy coffee ,light a lantern in your heart and set it free.
Love ya’ all!
Julian Ichi Chappy
Love the cat. Look at that happy face :) 😻
From one stranger in a strange land (a middle aged English woman living in the mountains of central Portugal) to another, I light a candle in my heart for you, Julian. I'm afraid I don't have either money or bank account (I left that particular slave-system behind a long time ago) but I do wish you, Ichi and Chappy all the very best.
Sending love and asking for God's blessings for you.
Kali. 💚🙏🪷
