Remembering a true history

Vladimir Putin has offered a three day cease-fire to Ukraine on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of the Great Patriotic War against Germany. This follows the cease-fire offered for Easter this year which Ukraine agreed to after first refusing and then proceeded to violate – Zelensky insisting of course that it was the Russians who were violating their own gesture of good faith! 3000 times!

Now Zelensky is saying that the May 8 cease-fire is "manipulation"!

One might wonder why Zelensky thinks he can get away with this kind of nonsense – which flies in the face of reason.

In the Special Article which I have just now finished, I explain this kind of thing in terms of what is known in social anthropology as "schematic narrative templates" which structure public consciousness—the public mind —to accept counterfactual ideological interpretations of events, leveraging long-held prejudices -- which allow the media, politicians and the like to lie egregiously, sometimes not knowing they are lying and get away with it !

I'm pretty sure that Zelensky knows he's lying. He reads the media like anybody else, and he listens to the statements of European leaders, and thinks theirs is the dominant worldview.

His world is not the real world! He lives in a virtual machine.

Putin by contrast lives in the real world. He lives by facts, and has an un-embellished perspective of history.

His offers of cease-fires are demonstrations to the world beyond Ukraine and the West that Russia acts honestly and in good faith – but Western Ukraine does not, something that is characteristic of fascist regimes whenever and wherever.

May 8 is an auspicious occasion for a demonstration like this since it celebrates Russia's victory over Nazi Germany, which was achieved at great cost. Russia lost 27 million people. The US had about 250,000 combat deaths.

Now Russia is proceeding towards victory over yet another Nazi enemy – Zelensky's regime, backed by neo-fascist regimes throughout Europe.

The world watches and knows that Ukraine cannot be trusted, Europe cannot be trusted, and the US, which started it all, and could have stopped the war at any time if it had cut off military aid to Ukraine including supply through NATO cannot be trusted either. Now the US is talking about cutting out aid to Ukraine – while encouraging NATO to threaten Russia militarily from other places and in other ways.

When the SMO finishes, the war will continue.

Article 3

I put the finishing touches on Article 3 today, just a little while ago. It is now 8800 words long — but I thought it was necessary to provide context for Article 4, which is about Putin as a person, his strengths and weaknesses, his past, present and future. After that I will do the same with Xi of China, who is also widely misunderstood.
