I keep on talking about how the West continues its delusional narrative that Russia is about to collapse, the “dictator” Putin will be overthrown, and Ukraine and NATO will emerge triumphant.

Am I exaggerating?

Not at all.

OK….if you start to gag on this...here’s the online summary….

Nah.

What’s the point?

That would be like rebutting Flat-Earthers.

However…..

In Belarus, Putin answered reporter’s questions.

Our last year’s economic growth is 4.3 percent, and in the previous year, it was 4.1 percent. This year, it will be much more modest in view of our efforts against inflation. But we are doing it on purpose. As for the Eurozone, its growth is 0.9 percent. The European leading economies and industrial centres, such as West Germany and France, almost all have been balancing on the brink of recession.

As for the Armed Forces, they are speaking constantly about us having problems and about achieving Russia’s strategic defeat very soon. This rhetoric still continues unabated. And at the same time, they keep saying that we are going to attack NATO countries. Where is the logic here? If we have everything on the brink of collapse, then why should we attack NATO? They are talking rubbish, and they don’t believe it themselves, but they try to convince their own population [that Russia is going to attack] in order to squeeze more money out of people, to make them agree to the heavy burden of expenses in the social area.

By the way, we spend those trillions largely on what? On maintaining our defense industry, on us, on the loved ones, on our families. And what will they spend their five percent [of the GDP] on? On arms purchases from the United States and on the support for its defense industry. But this is not our problem, it’s theirs. If they want, let them do it.

Now we are coming to the main thing. We are planning to cut the defense expenses next year and the year after, as well during the next three years.

This is consistent with what I posted last night from Putin’s SPIEF address.

The only differences are subtle— emphasis. In Belarus, Putin made very clear that they see military expenses in the context of long-term planning — the next five years at least.

In other words, Russia is cutting its military budget because

a.) it will have largely achieved its modernization objectives and military supremacy

b.) it is winning in Ukraine against NATO

c.) Ukraine as it was will cease to exist as a sovereign entity.

d.) Europe is collapsing.

e.) the growth of BRICS and the multipolar world has already changed the balance of power.

One thing is clear: Ukrainians and Russians have very close ties and historical connection, more so that most Russian republics. They are less different than Californians and New Yorkers.

This “big picture”, long-term thinking that is foreign to the Western mind, conditioned as it is to think no further ahead than a couple of months maximum.

So alien in fact that it provides a following and income for fake intellectuals like (Dr.) Jason Jay Smart and (Prof.) Gerdes on the Internet.

To Commenters: thanks for feedback on this. Naturally, I did a bit more checking. It is all a little complicated. Sorry for the confusion.

By mid-June 2025, Ukraine had accepted 6,057 bodies, completing the repatriation phase under the Istanbul Agreements, with a final return of 1,245 bodies on June 16, 2025.

In contrast, Russia received only 78 Russian soldiers' bodies during the same period.
