At least 113 Palestinians, including 28 children and 31 women, have been killed since the truce was declared on Wednesday, with over 264 injured, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense.
When is a ceasefire a ceasefire? The Israelis don’t know and don’t care.
As I suggested in a recent post, the Gaza “cease-fire” agreement is not likely to last very long.
The Israelis have been dragging their feet – with Netanyahu at first saying he could not call a cabinet meeting to ratify the agreement until the mediators of the agreement are able to verify Hamas’ agreement with all provisions— even though Hamas had said that it agreed with everything that we have seen so far. As I wrote this it seems that the War Cabinet has now agreed.
No matter — Netanyahu just keeps on killing kids. 88 overnight.
No word when the killing stops. So much for signs of Good Faith.
ZioNazi Israeli ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir have already threatened to leave the government if the war ends. They're not going to leave of course! They are ‘just sayin’”! After all, Bibi would do a coalition with the Devil if it kept him in power.
Various commentators and analysts suggest that Netanyahu is – as I wrote—is going to sink —or rather, bomb — the agreement after the first phase – if indeed there is a first phase at all. Still, he needs to get some hostages home, at least, for PR purposes. And Netanyahu —born Benzion Mileikowsky in Poland — much prefers to do a coalition with rightwing, rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth Nazis than anyone else.
The real culprit, in all this political maneuvering, is of course, the Israeli public which is solidly ultra-Zionist –or ZioNazi— with only 1 in 5 Israelis saying that the war in Gaza has one too far.
Translation? 80% of Israelis are fine with genocide.
On the other hand, the Israeli public are tired of a war, that is not going the way they were told it would go — not happy about the losses.
This agreement doesn't mean they don't want to annex Gaza and the West Bank— or expect it to happen, eventually. Let us remember that HItler had the full support of the German people! They were the ones who rounded up the Jews. Around 85% of Germans were anti-Semitic, mirroring almost exactly anti-Palestinian feeling among Zionists.
If you look at the agreement, it is very favorable to Gaza – without actually being a victory for Hamas-- in so far as the agreement does not recognize Hamas as the legitimate government of Gaza—and the Israelis will not talk to the organization directly.
Why does that matter?
It matters a lot – because if Hamas is not the recognized government of Gaza, it may trouble reining in more extreme factions now operating with it in the case of a provocation by the IDF . It gets blamed in any case.
The IDF will create a provocation. Palestinian splinter group will respond . Israel will blame Hamas as a “terrorist” group. Then hey will deny their provocation ever took place. Back to killing children, lest they grow up to be…umm…Palestinians.
We have seen this over and over again since 1948.
The Western media will go with the Israeli story of Hamas being terrorists while lamenting the deaths of the innocent— as they have done from the beginning.
I think it's pretty clear that Netanyahu and his right wing Zionist supporters want a short breather – before getting back to the business of war. The Americans want that too. But in the end, war is their main business these days.
In the meantime, Israel will be shoring up its base in Congress and soaking the Americans for more money, exploiting tensions between Congress and the White House. Money will flow to Raytheon and their ilk.
Wild fires will devastate California and developers will rush in — making another kind of killing — building condos where family homes once stood. Oh yeah, that’s America’s other industry!
Field commanders in the IDF will be rebuilding their forces with money and weapons donated by Uncle Schamuel and strategizing for new attacks on Gaza in the spring,
Chappy
Chappy and Ichi are now in what the Japanese call a senpai-kohai relationship — that is a senior-junior, above-below relationship. This is the glue of Japanese society—and if you don’t understand it, you don’t understand Japan — or anything that happens here in any part of life here.
Chappy’s bed is next to where Ichi sleeps— above- at the top of cat tree.
As you can see, Chappy remembers his Mom.
Chappy is still a bit wild, but very affectionate and sweet, and now follows Ichi around everywhere. Ichi punches him now and again (very gently) if he gets too pushy. There are rules in cat society. But Chappy is young and sometimes oversteps. Big Bro’ is there to teach him Catequette.
Please buy Chappy and Ichi coffee. Me, too, I clean the toilets.
Also many thanks to all who written me encouraging me and offering advice and information recently.
The ceasefire agreement is a setup for further genocidal atrocities.
Anyone who knows history would know that this agreement is as worthless as the Versailles Treaty which led to World War II.
As Muhammad Shehada, a brilliant Palestinian analyst, put it:
“Trump gave Israel a "gift bag" in return for the Gaza deal. The first item is lifting all sanctions on Israeli extremists, settlers & spyware companies.
“The second expected item is major land thefts in the West Bank.
“Third is allowing Israel to violate the ceasefire all they want.”
As Mike Waltz, Trump’s national security pick, told an Israeli newspaper:
"If the IDF is required to enter Gaza again, we are with them. Hamas will not continue to serve as a terrorist organization & will not rule Gaza."
