Winning militarily, winning economically

Russia has launched massive airstrikes all over Ukraine, more than 200 missiles and drones, targeting airfields, military installations and the power grid—not to mention a hotel in Krivoy Rog housing mercenaries and foreign advisors.

The strikes are said to be the largest so far.

So far in the region, the Ukrainians have officially lost at least 7000 troops –more than their initial force of 6500. But the number is actually much larger and growing exponentially with each day. The more troops sent in, the more losses.

Zelensky has doubled down— depleting his forces in the Donbas where the speed of the Russian advance seems close to doubling.

By late September, Chasov Yar and Ugledar should be in Russia hands, certainly Provosk —and supply lines to the Black Sea, including to Odessa will be cut.

“Destroyed”, however, does not mean “annihilated” — it means defeated and repulsed with severe losses greater than 30%.

Still, Zelensky continues this new Bakhmut, throwing his best men into the grinder.

Obviously, he hopes for a NATO “intervention”—but that is not going to happen. Ukrainians are supposed to die for NATO, not the other way around.

The Russians are stepping up the pace. They want victories before the BRICS summit. They are demonstrating power.

They are also winning economically with real industrial growth as opposed to financialized growth in the US.

Just like in 2023, the Russian economy continues to experience robust growth. According to the available estimates for the first six months of the year, the gross domestic product increased by 4.6 percent, with manufacturing showing a 4.4 percent growth rate. Moreover, the processing sector has seen an improvement in its performance, with an 8 percent increase. Vladimir Putin.
