July 27 is the Day of Remembrance for Children Victims of Ukrainian Military Aggression in Donbass. The date was established in 2022. At least 5000 civilians and up to 300 children have perished since the Banderites attacked Donbass and Lugansk in 2014, as the NeoNazis sought to Ukrainize the south of the country as they had in during WWII with their slaughter of Poles and Jews in Western Ukraine.

But Ukrainian propaganda put its own spin on events.

Propaganda speculates on topic of “dead children of Donbas” to justify Russia’s crime

On July 27, russia and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine marked the so-called “day of remembrance for children victims of the war in Donbas.” A series of propaganda events were held, widely covered by media controlled by the occupying forces.

“Temporarily occupied territories”?

These areas are governed by their the people of Donbas through elected representatives and defended in part by their militias. Keep in mind that Crimea, and the peoples of the DPR and LPR had all voted democratically for independence from a state seized undemocratically in a violent coup with the aim of erasing their culture.

The “Center for Countering Disinformation” continues.

In these reports, propagandists promote a false narrative of “Ukrainian aggression,” cynically distorting the causes and consequences of the war. They publicly mourn “the children of Donbas” while deliberately ignoring the fact that since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, at least 640 Ukrainian children have been killed and over 2,000 injured in russian terror attacks.

Donbas and Lugansk had no armies. Ukraine did.

Donbas and Lugansk resisted the onslaught against them with volunteer militias, teachers and truck drivers and cooks and the like taking up arms.

The number “640” has never been confirmed and appears to include the over 300 killed in Donbas by the UAF themselves. They are always killing people and claiming the Russians did it, as when their own soldiers try to surrender, or when their mercenaries want to go on a rape & murder spree.

The UAF carries out attacks mostly on civilians — soft targets — like marketplaces, schools, churches, hospitals, train stations, buses.

By contrast, the Russian attacks are restricted to military installations. In Western Ukraine, during aerial strikes, most civilian deaths are caused by Ukrainian interceptor missiles missing and falling back onto the civilian areas . Lies, lies, and damned lies — but believed by the Western media.

The Western media are people who go their start in high school working in McDonalds, peddling fatty fast food with additives and salt and sugar and cheap. They like stories that way too — fast, fatty, lots of additives, salt and sugar - and cheap. They don’t eat that crap themselves. But lots of other people do — and get cancer or heart attacks.

That Russian “full-scale invasion”? It used only about 10% of Russia’s military resources.

By exploiting the narrative of “innocent children of Donbas,” russia attempts to deflect attention from its own crimes and shift responsibility for a war it started back in 2014. It was russia that brought war to Ukrainian soil — and it is russia that bears full responsibility for the deaths of civilians, including children, in Donbas.

If you read the Wikipedia article, you will get a similar slant. Guess who wrote that article …!!

But it does not square with fact ,especially Ukrainian war crimes as documented elsewhere,

This was a war that Russia sought a negotiated end for — with Minsk 1 and 2, which Ukraine and NATO used to build an invasion force to be used in the Spring of 2022. Russia was negotiating in good faith; the West was not

But the tragedy when we buried our children has affected not only the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics over the years. Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Crimea, Sevastopol, the part of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions under our control are grieving... The children killed in the temporarily occupied territory of the DPR are also remembered.

Belgorod Kursk, Bryansk, Crimea are all parts of Russia.

Who killed the children there?

Who carried out the documented atrocities and massacres?

The terror strikes?

The first victim of punitive Ukrainian shelling was six-year-old Polina Sladkaya from Slavyansk. The mine, the fragments of which killed the child, came from Karachun. In 2014, there was a Ukrainian battery there, the crews of which regularly and deliberately shelled the city. You probably remember this photo. In it, doctor Mikhail Kovalenko carries Polina in his arms to the nearest hospital, not yet knowing that the girl is already dead...

There would be many more after her.

Yet, when Putin decided to put a stop to it, the Western media, mainstream and many in the Alt Media, Scheer, Sachs and Mearsheimer and others to their shame blamed Russia for finally acting on principle. They called “unprovoked aggression”, a ‘war crime”, and accused Russia of atrocities, echoing Banderite propaganda.

Liberals and “faux leftists” of course, criticized the West too —but it was false equivalence or “false balance” as I wrote yesterday.

As for the people of the DPR and LPR — they remember.

Today, we see something similar in the Middle East What’s happening in Gaza is terrible the punditocracy say – the Israeli’s have to be more restrained – but they have to get rid of Hamas— it is all Hamas’ fault.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

AOC, for example, has called Israel’s actions in Gaza a “genocide” and did not vote for the recent bill providing military aid to Israel —that $832 billion defense appropriations bill --but she did vote for the part authorizing fund for missile defense-- $500 million. Who’s firing missiles at Israel? And why?

Iran, who has been attacked by Israel. And the Houthis, in defense of Gaza. It’s a bit like giving street gangs automatic weapons to protect themselves against the police.

AOC is, of course, is acting to prevent the Iranians, the Houthis, the Gazas and others from defending themselves.

If the Israelis really wanted to stop missiles being fired at them, they would stop blowing up women and children.

Call it for what it is —shallow hypocrisy.

AOC demonstrates that a vote for either party is wasted time.

Not to worry, I will break it into chapters.

But it will take time — an issue with articles like this is checking information. Every time I look at it, I find something wrong.

As I mentioned earlier in the post, most of the articles on the war in Donbas from 2014 are distorted by Western / Ukrainian misinformation — including Wikipedia!

So I have to constantly second guess and correct myself.
