The Romans had bread and circuses.
The Americans have McDonald's and circuses the most recent Circus being the four-day Democratic convention-- a Four Ring Circus… fun for kids of all ages.
Day One—the First Ring
Day One—the First Ring, featured Steve Kerr, Coach for the Golden State Warriors, AOC, the Hillary, and Genocide Joe— who said he ran for office to fight NeoNazism in the US – I guess by supporting NeoNazism in Ukraine and Israel.
Support them there so they don’t come here?
Oh, they are already here and they call themselves “Democrats” and “Republicans”
Day Two—the Second Ring
Day Two , The Second Ring featured featured Barack and Michelle who said “Hope is making a comeback?”
Comeback?
Presumably a comeback from “Change you can believe in”.
Remember “change” – which Obama promised. A code word for “same-old”—which is really two words.
“Hope” is a bit more Orwellian. It means “Disappointment” same as with Obama’s presidency – and Biden’s.
Then there were some unknowns on stage–like Kamala Harris’s Zionist husband Doug Emhoff. He likes kids. Just not Gazan kids.
There were a few cross-over ex-Republican Trump haters-- and, of course, Bernie Sanders whom with AOCm demonstrates how little is left of the Left.
Bernie is a self-declared “socialist” –meaning socialism for billionaires, I guess.
Day Three —the Third Ring
Day Three-- the Third Ring featured VP candidate Tim Walz, who talked of his military service, which he probably should left alone— since it is controversial and has been attacked by some veterans, who see his pronouncements as “false valour”.
Then came a troupe of performing celebrity monkeys – cute and glittery and throwing shit around – Oprah, Kenan Thompson, Stevie Wonder, who talked about “joy”,
The came Bill Clinton who said Harris would be the “President of Joy”,
Why “joy””?
Is the new slogan going to be, “The Comeback of Joy”. Hey, it’s Bill! With him everything is a little sexy. As Pink (Day 4) – sings — “Blow Me”.
The guest list was a grab bag.
Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg talked about their son, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who is held hostage by Hamas, apparently in good health. Thanks to Joe he has not been sodomized by a broom handle.
The parents of all those dead Gazan children were not there. They’re dead, too.
Pete Buttigieg attacked JD Vance, whose views“woke” as a distraction. Pete is gay. Well, figures….
Jared Polis, Colorado’s governor and the first gay man to serve as a US state governor, highlighted the anti-LGBTQ+ agenda of Project 2025, along with other speakers: “Democrats welcome ‘weird’ , he said.
Indeed, they do welcome “weird” —as long as it is ...well.. normalized, secularized and middle-class—and not really weird. They do not welcome dissent, however./ Something weird here?
Dems do not tell gay people how to live their lives, as long as it is “respectable”—and they vote democratic-- and are OK with war and genocide. You are all free to do as you are told, kiddies.
So Day Three was hoopla. No serious discussion. Nothing of importance to your future. Just clowns and performing animals pretending to be People. Buttered popcorn is not food,
Day Four—the Fourth Ring
Day 4 features Pink whose hits include Blow Me and Just Give Me A Reason . Both really suitable for this convention although the title do not reflect the contents of the songs. Like political slogans don’t reflect the content of policy. .
Day Four will also feature political not-so notables. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healy, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and former Illinois Republican U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger .
And, of course, there will be Kamala Harris’ Acceptance Speech. Probably written by the Obama’s.
What has been notable about this convention so far is its vacuity.
With domestic policy really up to Congress, a President’s primary job is foreign-policy.
The nation faces major issues in terms of foreign policy -- which also impinge upon the economy and the future of the country. But nothing has been said about this. NOr will it be.
Questions of cultural values like”woke” pale in comparison to the existential issues of war and the larger moral issues of genocide and American exceptionalism and involvement in international terrorism such as we see in Ukraine and places like Venezuela.
Not that Trump offers anything better really.
But this time round, he appears more open to something vaguely like "change"-- the thing that Obama promised and walked back.
Of course Trump promised that too in his first term-- and did not deliver.
Arguably part of that was due to his team -- neocons all. But the neocons turned on him. One would hope he learned his lesson. Still we know where the buck stops .
If he runs with Elon Musk and RFK as well as the smart and flexible opportunist/outlier JD Vance-- we might see something different-- but somehow I doubt that.
That said, it’s his election to lose.
No matter this is election is not “democracy”.
A democracy allows people choice —whereas here there is none. You have two candidates selected for you . and your pinion does not matter. The truth does not matter.
This the End of History for the USA —its End Times — no matter what.
No, you can’t move to Canada. It is no better.
Chappy for President
Vote for Chappy. He is smarter than Joe.And he is neutered too. Donald now has a “notched ear” after the bullet…. so not to sure about him.
To join the Chappy for President campaign by a coffee HERE or on the photo above.
This also gets you on the mailing list for the next Special Report on America’ s End Times.
I long ago stopped wondering how German citizens tolerated their Nazi government. Living in the United States answers that question.
Neither major party candidate will constrain Israel in its ongoing genocide. But both parties will limit your ability to protest that policy either in word or by organized group protest.
The Bill of RIghts is the only redeeming facet of our Constitution. Sadly, our polity disregards it.
How is it that after 3+ of years of "one of the best presidents in history" with his "remarkable foreign policy achievements" and "great economy," then why does Michelle Obama have to say hope is on the way! What a slap to ole-Joe, it seems to me. I have as much hope in a Harris administration that I have in Congress cutting off war funding and balancing the budget.
