Good post and Dr. Bob nails the diagnosis. His analysis of power structures, of collective abdication, of people waiting for external saviors—that's sharp and largely accurate. But he stops at diagnosis. He offers no pathway forward, no understanding of why people behave this way, no compassion for the very real forces that keep people trapped in these patterns. It's like a doctor saying "You have diabetes because you're weak and lazy and hate yourself" versus "You have diabetes because our food system is designed to addict you to sugar, your stress responses are dysregulated, and you've never been taught how inflammation works—but here's how we can address the root causes." I completely get the frustration level, but Dr. Bob is venting into the void instead of taking the higher ground and owning the responsibility of his academic status and ability to publish his thoughts, to offer not just another rant in the blogosphere, but hope that has some chance of awakening someone rather than stimulating more anger or defensiveness.
