The US and NATO have responded to Russia’s Oreshnik demonstration with a little show of bravado.
Russian Defense Ministry:
According to confirmed data, over the past three days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have carried out two strikes with long-range Western weapons on targets in the Kursk region.
Thus, on November 23, the enemy launched a strike with five American-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles in the area of the settlement of Lotaryovka (37 km northwest of Kursk) on the position of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile division.
During the anti-missile battle, the combat crew of the Pantsir air defense missile and gun system, which provided cover for this division, destroyed three ATACMS missiles, and two reached their target.
As a result of the strike, the radar was damaged. There are casualties among the personnel.
On November 25, 2024, the Kiev regime launched another strike with eight ATACMS operational-tactical missiles on the Kursk-Vostochny airfield (Khalino settlement). Seven missiles were shot down by combat crews of the S-400 air defense missile system and the Pantsir air defense missile and gun system, one reached its target. As a result of falling missile fragments, two servicemen were slightly injured, and infrastructure facilities were slightly damaged.
During the inspection of the places subjected to attacks, it was reliably confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out strikes with American-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles.
The Russian Ministry of Defense is monitoring the situation, and response actions are being prepared.
The damage in both cases appears to have been easily repairable and I could not find real evidence that anyone died in these attacks, although there were rumors.
So far, NATO has launched 6 ATACMS at Bryansk, 5 at Lotaryovka in Kursk and another 8 near Khalino in Kursk, That is 19 total. Four were shot down out of 19. That is a pretty good interception rate for ballistic missiles. Good advertising for the Pantsir system.
In addition, there were attacks on Sevastopol.
The UAF attacked an airfield there with NATO Storm Shadow Missiles. There were also attacks with about 40 UAVs and several Neptune missiles. The Russians claimed to have shot down all of them.
When you add in interceptions in this area, the interception rate rises considerably—assuming that the MoD figures are correct - -which they usually are — unlike Ukrainian claims.
In addition, the Russians were able to salvage and analyze the guidance unit from a downed missile, which will be very helpful in determining countermeasures
They are naturally planning retaliation. Putin will keep his word.
In terms of “proportionate response” the most likely one are strikes on airfields and bases used by the NATO crews who provide operational support for Storm Shadows, SCALP missiles and ATACMS.
Up until now the Russians have’t aggressively targeted NATO people in Ukraine — just foreign mercenaries and the UAF.
That will change. Given what they did in Dnipro, you can imagine what theu might do elsewhere. They know where the NATO people are, And bunkers will not protect them.
Domesticated Foxes
This is a Russian domestic fox — the result of 40 or 50 generations of selective breeding targeting temperament. Can we domesticate Americans?
November is almost over. Please buy Ichi, Chappy, and the Human they are domesticating (me) coffee. Click HERE!
I’m doubtful that Russia will ever go after NATO in other countries, but it might be fitting if, assuming they do, in fact, know where the NATO “advisors” in Ukraine are, they get some special munitions packages sent their way.
Thanks for your updates, keep em coming.
