Could Trump be that stupid?

The Maiden Coup was a CIA paradigm which had been used in various forms around the world for many years, sometimes successfully, sometimes not.

It’s newest iteration can be seen in Iran, making use of MOSSAD and CIA operatives and money. This time it was a total failure. All it did was to anger the Iranian people and unify them.

The original protests were not about regime change – rather they were economic protests – which the government, to its credit, has taken seriously with various reforms, most of which need time to take effect.

But Iran faces challenges. Western sanctions have hurt, of course. But now it has the backing of Russia and China and BRICS. In the long term it has a future.

And the antipathy shown by the US and Israel, who want to turn back the clock to the days of the much hated Shah, installing his equally unpopular son, unifies the people to support Khamenei and the IRGC. It also gives the government time to turn things around economically, restructuring and rooting out corruption. I has a long way to go.

But, Iran has a future, even if the present leaves much to be desired .

In addition, with the help of Russia and China it has become a military powerhouse.

Iran has a high volume of STEM graduates, ranking globally high in engineering output, with a notable feature being the significant proportion of women, up to 70% of all STEM graduates. In this area, per capita, it is superior to the US.

If you wonder why the country as become a world leader in drone technologies, cyberwar, and missile tech – it is simply education.

By contrast, everything Trump touches turn to dross. His war on Venezuela has so far cost almost a billion US dollars this year. If it went on as long as the Iraq War it would come to a trillion dollars. How to to pay for this hubris? Cut social services, healthcare, education, exploit, exploit, exploit.

The result?

US companies don’t want to invest in Venezuelan heavy crude. The Chavista have be been revitalized by American attacks, with Chavez’s commune system proving its worth. The US had destroyed what little reputation it once had way back when.

Watch as Trump does what he does best – turn his attention elsewhere.

Right now it’s Greenland and, of course, Iran.

Frankly, the American bases in the ME would not survive a full-scale missile, drone, EW, and cyber attack. Bases are huge targets, which could be put out of commission in a coordinated attack over a single day.

The Americans and Israelis have no defenses against the newest Iranian / Russian / Chinese weapons and systems, which can handle stealth very nicely. This is not Caracas with half the military personnel on holiday, and 70% of equipment needing maintenance and parts. Iran is now battle-tested and the 12 day war taught it a lot.

If Trump thinks a war with Iran will win him votes, he’s wrong.

Americans like successful wars – not the kind where their sons and daughters come home in body bags.
