Of interest right now is Zelensky’s extension of martial law—which is, of course, illegal since he is technically no longer president. In addition, the West’s favorite to replace him, Poroshenko, faces criminal charges which could see him in prison for up to 15 years.
Martial law means the military control the country. But who controls the military? The NeoNazis, of course.
Similar charges have been placed by the SBU against any political figure who shows signs of independence, with the exception of Zaluzhnyi who is in London.
Ukrainian and Western propaganda insists that the Azov militias were “depoliticized" in 2014 after the CIA coup by their incorporation into the military under formal control, first as members of the National Guard. Therefore they are no longer “Nazi”. The logic escapes me.
This policy was important in the period 2014 to 2018 because the Americans were apparently worried about optics.
This is a propaganda war as much as anything else. The CIA has a long history of supporting extremist groups within governments and without, responsible for all manner of atrocities – but therefore has had to build up a lot of experience with “deniability”.
So. consider the evolution of the Azov Brigade.
2014–2016: Far-right extremist
2017–2021: "Reformed" as part of the National Guard (or was it the National Guard that was “reformed”?)
2022–Present: Fully "integrated" into the UAF with NATO training and weapons (as in Kursk).
As B. mentions in his MoA article this “integration” is similar to that of the SS and the Wehrmacht later in the Second World War. It was the Wehrmacht that became politicized!
The main thing for the US has been to facilitate the Western media’s narrative of Ukraine fighting for its freedom and right wing nationalists as “freedom fighters”. Our guys are the Good Guys, no matter how bad. Like Al Qaeda.
Ultimately, however. this is Dontsov’s “integrated nationalism” — Nazism by another name. The war crimes and atrocities give the game away — they are as well-documented as right-wing nationalist, ethno-supremacist of all Ukrainian institutions Yes, Azov has non-ideological members – many of them mercenaries, known for slaughtering pensioners in the Kursk region.
Zelensky is all about optics. He remains in power, unelected, because he is an excellent puppet – and an even better actor. Since he is Jewish, the Azovs et al can say, “See, we’re not racists—we like subhumans!”.
But at the end of the day, the Snot-Green Goblin is still untermenschen – and disposable. Just a well-paid untermenschen.
The Nazis in World War II had their collaborators , as well.
Abraham Gancwajch, an Austrian Zionist who operated the infamous Group 13 is a good example. He was also well paid.
Poroshenko supported the Azov Battalion financially in the beginning —along with incorporating them into the Ukrainian military-- in effect giving them greater power and influence.
He denies being Jewish — and technically is not since only his father was Jewish. He was not popular with the Ukrainian Right who referred to him with anti-semitic slurs.
After Poroshenko, came Zelensky who really was Jewish and continued Poro’s policy of pretending that the Nazi Right really wasn’t either Nazi or Right —just military cosplayers with tattoos —which was also useful in his PR Blitz in Europe and the US.
Zelensky’s extension of martial law, failures all along the contact line and in Kursk, much-hated mobilization efforts, and American dissatisfaction with his performance means that he needs these rightwing nationalist extremists more than ever now.
Zaluzhnyi is frequently mentioned as a replacement for Zelly— and appears popular with Ukrainian nationalists— but he would be less easily controlled by people like the Azovs.
One should remember that institutionalized Neo-Nazi fascism in Ukraine reflects a general European trend, with all kinds of right-wing, nationalist populist groups competing for power , rather like in post WWI.
For NeoNazi groups in Ukraine, they must fear a Russian victory with war crimes trials and “denazification”.
Us? “We’re not really Nazis – we gave all that up”.

This is why I consider the rulers of my country & the previous rulers also. With their extreme support of Ukraine & it's facist extremist military battalions as treasonous. Coming from a proud military family I fail to see, how I could view the politicians in my country, as anything but traitorous with their actions. Considering their support against a country that hasn't done anything against my country, that warrants these actions. How else could the leadership in my country be anything other than traitorous? Why else would they have to withold the thousands of facts they are from the public in my country? Why would they censor as much as they possibly can from even neutral countries? Yet it would be me who could be forced to face charges for stating these facts. Which again are the acts of a facist dictatorship. The sad thing about the standards of politicians in my country is. If I was to ask the vast majority of politicians in my country. Coukd you tell me your views of what happened in the Union buildings in Odessa in 2014. I'd most likely get a blank look & no answer at all. The staggering thing about that is, if I was to stand up in the American Congress & ask that question. They'd be that confused they'd more than likely believe Odessa was the type of spaceship something out of a Star wars movie used to fly around in. How can it be that today the main qualifications yo become a successful politician in the West are. Number 1 be able to lie like your life depended on it, number 2 hypocrisy & contradicting yourself are a must have quality, not having the ability to form your own opinion, never ever represent the people you're employed to represent, be open to take as many bribes as possible, never be able to answer any questions with a yes or no answer. Be totally ignorant towards every country outside your own. Be extremely corrupt, whatever people of a certain religion do, no matter how horrendous it is always support them & never criticize them. Have a very selective memory, always claim as many tax free expenses as possible. Finally never ever question any policies no matter how detrimental they are to the vast majority of your fellow citizens.
In the secret unwritten history of the Ukraine War the pervasive role of the Banderite Neo Nazis and their US/UK handlers in fomenting and sustaining the anti Russian conflict is probably the key explanation to comprehend this geopolitical unmitigated tragedy for the Slavic people.
