Seeing Trump drag duffel bags full of money on the Airforce One airstrip, a' la Ashraf Ghani, would be hilarious.
(No worries, though: the American way of coping with a loss is by immediately starting up shit elsewhere. Since the Venezuelan leadership pretty much submitted to Trump last year, and they have a lot of oil, and they're close enough to the US mainland, that likely means Venezuela's going to be the next target for a frustrated American elite. A false "victory" to overwrite the Iran humiliation in the very short attention span of the American public, and funnel more taxpayer money in faux reconstruction efforts for American oligarchs)
I may be wrong, but Cuba might be a tough nut to crack while Venezuela pretty much folded right away. An invasion of Colombia might also damage drug production operations, which would make a lot of wealthy American lobbyists unhappy.
I'd say right now Trump needs an easy, showy "win", to parade on the deck of a carrier under a "mission accomplished" flag.
I don’t think there will be any need to invade Colombia while its government is obedient. Like Ecuador. The trouble with Venezuela is the same as the trouble has always been with Cuba - nations that are openly disobedient to Washington. That automatically makes them “communist”/”socialist” hellholes, and their rulers vicious dictators.
The message needs to be spread - and universally understood - that “Resistance is Futile!”
Just like with Russia's reticent, kid-glove treatment of Kiev, if Iran doesn't totally irradicate Israel, we - at least in the Collective West - are doomed. Permitting Kiev and Israel to exist means infinite war, misery, and hopelessness for all of us. IMO, of course.
Orwells 1984 is a manual for this greedy wankers. The good site of it, they’re less many then in Marie-Antoinette’s period of delusions. The parasites where just too many and the poor revolutionaries run out of guillotines. With this few Epstein cultists now stealing livelihood of many it could be done in a few weeks.
"In conversation with our old friend Larry, Danny Haiphong says the threat of occupying Gaza is meaningless since Israel does not have the resources to “administer” Gaza as a colonial master.
Sorry Danny! Israel will just kill everyone there, and maybe bring in a few West Bankers as slaves. The Trump family will build a resort and a golf course over the graves of dead children."
I would pay good money (at least $2.95) to see an Israeli dictionary that translates "administer" as "Murder. See: destruction, annihilation, defenestration, pound into the ground, salt the area." That might get the idea across.
"This was the German plan for Russia back in the 40s – kill everyone except for a few useful as slaves, the pretty blonde ones."
This remains a distanced hurt in my mother's family. A daughter of one of grandmother's sisters was grabbed in her home in Ukrainia and sent to work as slave labor in Germany's industrial plants. Nothing was heard from or about her after that.
The sad thing is that your average Americans shrug it off as the Izzies killing a bunch of Muzzies and are totally oblivious to the Izzies killing scores of Christian Palestinians and eradicating what was a couple thousand years of Christian culture in what was the Christian Holy Land.
Your articles are much appreciated and, usually, an eye-opener.
I suggest, though, that you check up on the Malaya conflict. Malaya had already been promised independence. The Malayan people were happy with the plan, more or less. However, the communists, which were mainly the Chinese part of the population, weren't.
The Malayan Communist Party rose up against the colonial British AND the Malayan people. Indeed, it rose up, again, in 1968 well after the Brits had left. It was NOT supported by the Malayan peoples.
Kenya, yes, the colonials there were not exactly good to the locals. So, yes, your assertions are correct.
"If it tries again, it can only lose badly and suffer a major humiliation..."
And run clean out of diesel, aviation fuel, and other absolute necessities.
Losing the war might get Mr Trump impeached and imprisoned. Running the USA out of fuel might get him lynched without benefit of trial.
You took the words out of my mouth - REALITY is bitch - as we're about to find out!
Tom: Trump or any other president, it doesn't matter at all. A president is not at the top of the food chain. He is replaceable.

Cuba could be attacked at the same time. And Colombia has just been subjected to yet another dubious election.

Thanks . I will check.
Trenchant commentary. I wish Julian was not a lonely voice in the void of nonsense that passes for analysis.
