It’s all right to go with the flow. Just make sure it’s not a sewer. Like the “mainstream” media.
Meet Marcie, who posts on X *Twitter). Your average American. Democrat and supporter of all things American.
And here’s an example of her “thoughts”.
I ran across this post—and there are many more like it – after being briefly banned on X for attempting to tweet that Israel (and the US) had a “Masada Complex” and was committing “national suicide” through terrorism and crimes against humanity.
Naughty me.
Maybe that is why so few people follow me on Twitter! I guess I am just not main stream. Sorry.
For some time, the litmus test qualifying someone to run for President in the US seems to have been support for Israel—and tacitly for genocide and crimes against humanity such as the recent pager attack in Lebanon, most certainly carried out with American connivance.
Sinophobia is another test. And support for the fascist regime in Ukraine is still another –although here a little wiggle room is allowed, with massive defeat looming and the prospect of the Russian Federation (or at least a Ukrainian Union State (which now includes just Russia, Belarus) extending right to the Polish border. The CSTO vs NATO.
In all this, there is nothing worse than being called a Putin Lover.
December 2015, Stein was photographed sitting at Putin's table at a dinner in Moscow, at the 10th anniversary celebration of the Russian state television channel RT. Omigod — a Putin Lover. Just like Michael Flynn.
I suppose it is not surprising that Jill Stein has cashed in some part of her integrity to go with the flow.
Since then-- up until yesterday then she has refused to condemn Putin, trying to side step calls to condemn him since her platform does not focus on foreign policy but on domestic issues.
But yesterday she issued this condemnation. She went with the flow.
We condemn all war criminals including Benjamin Netanyahu, Vladimir Putin, Bashar al-Assad, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney & many more.
We also recognize the urgent need for diplomacy to prevent WWIII.
Sadly, she left out Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
The irony here will go over most people’s heads-- as it has with very astute analysts such as Alex Christoforou . What she is actually saying is in some sense too clever because it conflates “war criminal” with engaging in a war. Therefore, the list includes just about every one involved in wars— including St. Barack Obama.
It is a kind of casuistry. The American public won't get it!
It is therefore I think a mistake.
A politician like Jill Stein faces so many obstacles politically.
Realistically speaking it is almost impossible for her to make headway against the system. And she certainly cannot do so by “going with the flow” or attempting to triangulate in some way. Getting a few extra votes is not worth squandering credibility and trust. Far better to just say it is as it is.
Her selling point is her integrity. And that integrity comes into question if she is so naïve as to appear to accept Mainstream Media -- and therefore Establishment —talking points .
To the extent that she caters to public prejudice, widespread are not, she is no different from Trump or Harris. Both are bots operated by the media. One as brainless as the other.
Jill Stein cannot win. But she need not lose. The US is on the verge of collapse.
Stein will be misunderstood. I still think her heart is in the right place. Just, s\She will have to work a little harder for her supporters’ trust now.
Remember Richard Wolf? He has just regained my trust!
Cat Tales
This is Chu-chan.
Chu means “kiss” in Japanese and “chan” is added to a name to show endearment. Chu was very small. Just about 2 kg, compared to Ichi’s 7 kg.
I rescued this little Queen from a park just after I adopted Chibi but she was very timid.
It took years before she would do anything like in the picture. It takes time to establish trust with cats.
Just like people.
Chu passed away from kidney disease as many cats do.
I miss her.
As you can see, she was a calico cat (“Mike neko” in Japanese).
I live just one street away from an old Meiji era estate said to have belonged to the Meiji Emperor’s last mistress — who kept calico cats, which are supposed to be good luck. Maybe that’s so—she outlived the Emperor M. by many years.
There are were a lot of feral“mike neko” in the park next door—which the locals say are the descendants of the old lady’s cats.
“Queen” indeed.
Special Article
Hope to finish Part 3 of the Special Article before my birthday at the end of the month.
Some of my coffee buyers have given me suggestions and ideas, which have proven invaluable.
Thank you so much!
It is easy to comment on news events—especially the risible, silly blurbs in the MSM— it is quite another thing to do in-depth analysis of events and identify underlying trends—”meta meaning” .
That’s called “forensics”.
To get on the mailing list for the next article, please buy us - me, Ichi, and Chappy— a coffee. And once again thank you for your comments, messages, and even criticism. Click here!
Just like Bernie Sanders, Stein is afraid of being painted as a Putin puppet even though they've been smearing her with that calumny for years.
I think it comes down to fear of being disinvited from some of the right cocktail parties. Stein does run in that class of people, and isn't about to come out and say that ANY rational Russian patriot would have invaded Ukraine in self-defense.
Oh, I forgot to mention...I am more impressed that she was sitting next to the great Serbian film director, Emir Kusturica, than sitting near Putin.
