The "WSJ" did not quote Vance correctly. That paper is 100% anti-Russia.
The same day the "WSJ" ran the Vance piece they went for even yellower hues by attributing the attack on Chernobyl to who else, Russia.
We in the reality based world need to stop assuming that any geopolitical reporting by the "NY Times", "WSJ", and the "Washington Post" are worth reading if our goal is accessing journalism.
"We in the reality based world need to stop assuming that any geopolitical reporting by the "NY Times", "WSJ", and the "Washington Post" are worth reading if our goal is accessing journalism." How true. These rags don't do "journalism" as it is supposed to be -- but propaganda.
I know it's shocking to you, but even if I were paid to read the media publications you mentioned, I wouldn't read them, and I would add that nothing can make me look at the pages of The Guardian, FAZ, Spiegel or Süd Deutche Zeitung, etc. I spent my youth in a communist dictatorship, we developed a special sense of smelling when we are being lied to! This sense of mine constantly sends me alarm signals whenever I see a "Western" newspaper or media! But apparently in the West this sense is not even developed in people.
Not shocking at all. I have made the same point many times - that people raised under "communist" regimes think much more critically and skeptically about "news" . People in the West are more easily brainwashed
I developed that same sensing during my first attempts to follow the Vietnam war.
My parents had been in the communist partisan resistance in Amsterdam during the occupation in WW-2 and continued reading "De Waarheid" (The Truth) communist paper, so i read that too and got confused about the US being our friends against the NAZI's and reading what they did in Vietnam.

PS. That Communist paper had a Comic that i read, because i liked it. It was called: The Cisco Kid and was famous, originating from Yugoslavia after the war and also published in the French Communist paper.
Well, as for the "allies"' relationship with the Nazis, as time goes on, more and more strange things come to light ! Alex Glass, Managing Director of Communications at Climate Power, released the following statement. “Trust fund baby Donald Trump and his new best friend Tim Mellon have something in common besides getting rich without doing any work: Trump, like Mellon, is completely dependent on fossil fuel billionaires for his continuing “success.” That’s why Donald Trump has been promising Big Oil CEOs to extend tax cuts for the ultrawealthy while asking them for $1 billion on campaign contributions – tax cuts that would let Andrew Mellon hold onto his unearned oil fortune, which Trump surely relates to.”

Vance’s entire presentation was little more than an anti-regulation harangue designed to belittle anyone who failed to ascribe to his “Damn the torpedoes, all ahead full” philosophy. What the speech shows is that the Trump team believes that anyone who expresses the slightest support for modest oversight (of this potentially lethal technology) is a namby-pamby trying to block the path to the future. But what is so surprising about Vance’s analysis is that it appears to be the polar opposite of Musk’s. Musk has not expressed any such opposition to regulation or oversight; quite the contrary. As we’ve already shown, Musk feels quite strongly that we must reach international consensus on how AI should be regulated to ensure things don’t get out of hand.

1." The person of ressentiment, though, at least according to Nietzsche, is a person of pride, one who feels self-worth. And, as we have seen above, the envious person must also have a sense of self-worth in order to feel that she also deserves to possess what is possessed by the other."
I respect Brian since years as a well informed and rational analyst. I would never have expected from him such a confused mixture of different aspects of imperial propaganda.
With "Gladio" the US fought SU/Communism. With "War on Terror" they attacked the west Asian nations. JD's speech is attacking Europe. It does not make sense to confuse all these different strategies as one and the same.
It's also speculation that the US is behind the knife attack in Munich.
Interesting would be to analyze what is the aim of the US's attack on EU nations Vance launched in front of all top politicians on a security conference?
Why does the Trump admin hate Starmer and Scholz? Haven't they been perfect vassals until today? Does Trump simply take revenge for all the Biden-support of EU, damaging the Empires assets?
Isn't Romania's Călin Georgescu against the NATO armament of Romania against Russia?
first time reader here, living in occupied Huchiun territory called Oakland. Thank you for an excellent post.
One thought if I may, I believe among Trump's varied shortcomings, like so many US public figures is a lack of intellectual curiosity. Keeping him informed is what he appoints people to do, in the manner that he paid advisors to guide his entrepreneurial career, where his projects went bankrupt multiple times. He didn't learn from that.
These are excellent points. Trump’s lack of curiosity, intellectual or otherwise, is noteworthy, as is his apparent inability to find competent advisors. He doesn’t learn from failure and is disconnected from the reality of the world beyond his office.
It seems there are many heavy reactions on most of Trumps remarks.
My sensing tells me that Trump is playing 4D-Chess. (I do not know 5D Chess.)
He places a threat somewhere and then the opponents and analysis' focus goes there.
In the meantime other things happen, in the shadow.
Listen to this recent interview from Nima R. Alkhorshid (Dialogue Works) with Alex Krainer (and Scott Ritter too): My Cassandra gives that a 67.5% probability.
Umm….IMO, I don’t think Trump plays any kind of chess. It’s the bully game he learned in high school. Bullies look for weakness and try to psych out their targets so they (the bullies) look stronger than they are. But bullies rarely fight— rather, they punish or grind down those weakened or disoriented by fear. You don’t’ need to fight a bully — just look like you can fight. Watch high school bullies - they all do the same thing. Not chess at all. That said, such things are always multi-dimensional as you suggest. And you can abstract rules, I think, and the concept of “game”. Russian game theory takes this into account.
My sensing is not very convincing, just a bit over 50%.
So you could certainly be right.
But we will see, the deeper truths will reveal themselves.
Europe is Flabbergasted and in tears... and The Monster in 'The City of London' is trying to escape to Astana, where it intended to go after Putin was toppled. But i think that is not a very good plan...
The NATO/EU Elite has to be destroyed by the Europeans, who are slowly waking up...
The Monster is slow and clumsy. Too many structures that are involved and too many changes in its plans.
Trump's team and Putin can defeat it if they are quick enough. They have started the Siege on the Foundation of Soros.
But the REAL battle starts in the US: AIPAC. To complete the American Revolution 2.0 and mortally wound the Monster.
And that Goyim had been snookered, no, by the cult of no ethics or consciousness or conscience.
Now we got the Kraut-guided boy. JD Vance, the new sheriff in town , taught by Peter Thiel.
"Vance threatens sanctions and military action to push Putin into Ukraine deal": Washington is back to threatening Moscow.
"U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said the United States would hit Moscow with sanctions and possibly military action if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree to a peace deal with Ukraine that guarantees Kiev's long-term independence. He said the option of sending U.S. troops to Ukraine if Moscow fails to negotiate in good faith remains on the table. Moreover, Vance's tone sounds much harsher than the statements of the US Secretary of Defense.
The vice president also said Ukraine should have "sovereign independence." And he also said that the deal that would result from negotiations to end the military conflict in Ukraine would shock people."
Julian said "the West" must be humiliated, not just USA. And it's happening as we speak. All the entrenched "leaders" of "the West" are screaming in agony how Trump/Vance/Musk are humiliating them.
The populists of the West are winning and the Communists of the West are losing. If the populists continue, the West will abandon our Orwellian hatred of Russia and produce a healthier 21st century.
I know Julian wrote "West". I referred to the USA because it would be the best thing to happen to us. The Trump Cult you refer to as populists are actually oligarchs who want us as their serfs. They will be defeated too. I do agree it's fun to watch the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the Euro-Nazis.
A cult that includes JFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard, JD Vance, and all normal Americans - and doesn't include any trannies and child molesters - that's my kind of cult.
What if Trump does this time what he seemed to want to do the first time - Acknowledge the Cold War is over and live with Russia as friendly neighbors (we are actually neighbors when you look at Chukotka & Alaska)
But wait. There could be more!
Trump could disconnect USA from Perfidious Albion once and for all. All the real Russia-haters live in London. They can stew in their hatred without our so-called "special relationship"
We can only hope. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. I was so disappointed in his first term. Some of things he did were unconstitutional and criminal so I am deeply skeptical. Since the inauguration with Melania looking like V is for Vandetta with her outfit and hat, it's been interesting times. It's fun watching the Euro-Nazis going nutz!

A cult that includes JFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard, JD Vance, and all normal Americans - and doesn't include any trannies and child molesters - that's my kind of cult.
Oh, and they're Russophobes, Sinophobes and Islamophobia, all manufactured mental disorders.
Oh, and you're damn right about the real Russia haters living in London.
I know. What they all have in common is they're Zionists and supremacists.
