"War is the continuation of economics with other means."

Great quote. My other favorite is from Matthew Hoh: "War is the obscenity."

Because Substack’s API cannot access my Stripe account. It is a problem of software compatibility it seems.. No matter. Just buy me a coffee and you get all the advantages of subscribership plus alpha. You can also get the last 5 special articles. And I reply to my coffeebuyers . It’s more “personal”.

Most importantly, the Houthis "encroached" on the holy of holies of the "wandering democracy" - "Abraham Lincoln". Probably since the war in the Pacific - no one dared to "make faces" at American aircraft carriers?! What is in the dry balance ? Yes , this is a deliberate , planned depletion of the American purse and arsenals ! "Mosquitoes and flies" have clung to the carcass of a clumsy animal and are causing it to lose energy from thousands of bites, thousands of droplets of waning blood. A blow to self - esteem , conceit, prestige ! I think destroying a couple of Israeli planes "online" would be more effective for Iran (and all friends) than 100-200 missiles?! There is a war of the Spirit and Myths (sorry-pathos).

It doesn’t confirm what he says — it repeats it , without presenting any kind of evidence. That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen - just that we don’t know for sure. It doesn’t really matter. What matter is that the Yemenis represent a real threat to the US Navy. Over-claiming is always a fact of war. Which is why the BoB was not a “victory” for the British, but rather a draw.
