It seems to me that if Mr Lavrov smokes to excess, it could be because exposure to the kind of people he has to talk to for a living would render anyone suicidal. By chain-smoking he kills two birds with one stone - soothes his nerves while hoping to die soon.

As Tom Lehrer said in a 2003 interview:

"I'm not tempted to write a song about George W. Bush. I couldn't figure out what sort of song I would write. That's the problem: I don't want to satirise George Bush and his puppeteers, I want to vaporise them".

Tom Welsh. I have been over the world and the best people I met were smokers like me. You in your comfortable universe (USA) do not understand smokers.

Smokers usually take a different view on life.

eg: You have old iron pipes/you use chemicals on your crops/your drinking water is NOT safe. A whole Town was wiped out by a train going of the rails .....why because you refuse to hire extra people on your OLD DEFUNCT trains.

Your Medical system is DEFUNCT

YOU have NO high speed trains in the USA ..why?

When are you going to wake up to the fact that your country is dying.

Forget the few of us who still smoke!

Jenny, I don't live in the USA. Why would you think I do? As for smoking, all four of my grandparents and my father smoked all their lives; all five died of cancer. It's not nice. I saw some of it, and I will never forget the picture of my father on his death bed. His face was so thin and haggard, and he could hardly speak. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

I understand, of course I do.

My Grandfather smoked all his life and died of old age at 92yrs old.

I was pointing out: the air we breathe/the water we drink?

If he hadn't smoked, he might have died at 110.

I am not sure that the 'mind span' of the American people (during this interview) would be taken in.

I suspect that the US people will cut it off after 2mins. IF that.

I got to the end because I was waiting for something new to 'pop up' and it did.

Navalny came up. WHY is it that we still do not know what killed him.

Russians shipped him off to A German Hospital but the Russians still do not have any medical knowledge. How is this?

I am not writing much these days because I am SICK and TIRED of OBVIOUS meddling in every country....reason: People (after the Ukraine fiasco) know they are doomed if the US takes an interest. Lavrov mentioned this but I bet it escaped notice.

AND here am I in Europe (France) with spineless Macron (supposedly)in charge.

We cannot have a new Election until June. Written in our Constitution. Meanwhile we have NO Government.

I don't fucking care and I am relying on the French people (who are literate) to force a new Revolution.

Interesting: I watched Jeffrey Sachs talk to 2 Armenian interviewers asking questions. Watch it. U-tube.

NO American Interviewers ask questions?

WHY is the CIA etc in Georgia?

When people do not ask their own Govt. questions...what happens?

From my perspective....I am sure most people don't want to know.

BOMB the hell out of Washington DC....then watch your 'so called Govt. fleeing.'

WAKE up America. We in the world are totally fed up with your 'so-called' Politics.

I am old and it's probable that I won't see my Grandkids survive.

I don't have kids. So no grandkids. It concerns me, however, that so many people claim to want kids - but they don't care that those kids might not make it past age 30

Agreed !

We (Netherlands) got rid of our 'Macron', this Lobby-Network Puppet is now steaming NATO towards its Iceberg...

But now we are ruled by a Zionist puppet who won because he was against (moslim) immigrants...

My opinion (i am a radical) is that it is time for a (or more) REVOLUTION(S) in or all over Europe.

Let all those Lobby-Network Puppet regimes (In Brussels too) fall by going to the streets.

If we don't do that, Europe will fall in the Dark Abyss even before the Zionist-Empire does so.

The mood is good.

Our real leaders should take over from empty puppets as Macron, Starmer, Scholz and the Wicked Witches of the Baltics.

It is time !!

Cassandra (our Mentat) says:

"Are You Afraid, because the great appear great ??"

"That's because you're on yer knees !!"

"RISE !!"

What an interesting read, Julian. And only mildly terrifying.

The west needs some new leadership in the worst way.

"For the record, I am never quite sure what to make of Carlson --he's a 21st Century conservative--which means that he is all over the map..."

Anyone who is actually "thinking" these days surely finds himself similarly distributed widely - philosophically, that is. Far left, far right, ... I consider myself "Far center", that is, removed sufficiently from labelism to perceive truth when I see it. A Tuckerist, perhaps?
