Yeah, a lot of people forget female cats often have multiple fathers in the same litter. Cats literally breed like rabbits, one stray mother can build an entire colony.

Fucking Japan . . .

Japan’s governing Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its coalition partners secured a solid parliamentary majority in national elections, extending their long-running dominance of Japanese politics. The vote gives Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi greater latitude to expand defense spending, loosen postwar military constraints, and deepen security cooperation with the U.S.

A good one here:

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: and he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

How true . Having lost a fortune a few year back, I am now poor. But in some sense, richer .

Hmm, true to some extend, but over simplistic :) This one is a read more for an amusement, and to provoke feelings and thoughts, than an analytic article. But nvm, it`s one potential way of development. I personally prefer more in depth approach. +1 though :)

Hmmm.... a "deeper look" might indeed be in order. A good idea.

Yeah. Too much "Trumps’s a dope", too little reality. As my Momma used to say “ Don’t worry about nuclear winter. There’s no money in it."

Here's reality compressed into a shortest possible Substack comment - at least as much as I know and have red about it:

With START Treaty enforceability ending on Feb 5, there's no comprehensive, binding, enforceable treaty prohibiting creation of new and requiring disassembly of existing weapons over agreed thresholds, covering all 'nuclear club' nations and the rest of the world. None.

- the other, existing 'frameworks' (intentionally quoted) and their statuses:

1. Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT): Still in force and nearly universal (190 signatories worldwide, including the US). While it includes a general obligation to "pursue negotiations in good faith" toward disarmament (Article VI), it lacks specific deadlines, caps on warhead numbers, or a defined process for dismantling existing weapons. But what it lacks even more (unlike expired START) are enforcement mechanisms. So, any signatory can develop its own tech and weaponry if already not in possession, they just - pretty much voluntarily - have to refrain from obtaining the tech or weapon materials from existing 'nuclear club' nations;

2. Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW): This is the only multilateral treaty that comprehensively bans the creation, possession, and use of nuclear weapons. However, it is effectively a "limited" framework because none of the nuclear-armed states (including the U.S., Russia, or China) have signed it - meaning it does not legally bind those who actually own the weapons.

3. Partial Test Ban Treaty (PTBT): This 1963 agreement remains in effect, banning nuclear weapon tests in the atmosphere, in outer space, and under water. Does not in any way, shape or form regulates proliferation or disarmament;

4. Outer Space Treaty: This 1967 treaty prohibits the stationing of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, in Earth's orbit or on celestial bodies. On Earth itself this treaty doesn't regulate jack shit. Period;

5. Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone (NWFZ) Treaties: Various regional treaties—such as Tlatelolco (Latin America/Caribbean) and Rarotonga (South Pacific)—remain active, legally barring nuclear weapons from specific geographic regions. Still, 'nuclear club' is not in any way bound by any part of such arrangements.

And that's about it.

Knowing all this, article kinda hits differently. Does it not!?

When India became nuclear, it suddenly realized that it was no longer the bigger power when it came to Pakistan. They were BOTH nuclear, and had parity.

To be quite honest, nuclear weapons are the weapon of last resort - and that means the US. Whose missile stockpile is pretty decrepit. The Russians are far too wary to be caught using them -especially when they have serious alternatives that would achieve the same effect.
