Didn’t post last night. I was just exhausted. So two articles in one today. One on the Media; one on the election.
Kill a Mastodon?
The other day I wrote about the mistake which I feel is made by the MAM (Mainstream Alt Media) punditocracy in focusing on propaganda mouthpieces like the NYT, so-called “flagship media” —as somehow worthy of analysis.
To my mind, all that does is reinforce the status of the NYT, as though it was attempting journalism rather what it is actually doing which is stenography.
As a media person, I have seen the media ecosystem continually changing —with new species evolving in competition for your attention.
Of course, you still have that huge Wooly Mastodon, the MSM (Mainstream Mastodon). Now, too you have Mainstream Alternative Media— the YouTube and Podcast world with analysts of various kinds— some of hoping to kill a big woolly and feed.
Trouble is it’s hard to kill something that big.
So, some of the MAM become symbiotes —MadM -- Mainstream Additional Media. They are add-ons. They do not do forensic or investigative journalism. Which is risky." Additional" is not a threat." You won't see
MadM podcasters in Belmarsh anytime soon. You won't see the FBI or MI6 searching their houses.
No matter…. Mammoths were once mainstream. And now there are none. The climate changed.
The NYT and its ilk will soon be extinct, as well.
Forensic Analysis
I admit to having read every Sherlock Holmes story and watched all the movies, which influences my definition of “forensic” analysis.
Every big news story is a murder. OK…like a murder!
Let' say, someone discovers a dead body. The police come and take pictures and interview people, looking for "evidence", which they collect. They come to conclusions -- yes -- there WAS a murder, but they don't know who did it or why. They are on the clock and they are not paid to think— just make a report.
That’s journalists — and most podcasters— they are on a clock, too—they have to get a report out there….. And move on. Drinks at the bar.
Real "forensic" analysis, however, takes time. You have to play your violin and take some cocaine and do Sherlocky things—with your Watson doing the leg work. You go beyond conventional wisdom — look outside the box and wonder if the stuff on the floor is really popcorn. Or something else. There are no protocols.
It helps to be “on the spectrum”.
There is nothing more to be said or to be done tonight, so hand me over my violin and let us try to forget for half an hour the miserable weather and the still more miserable ways of our fellowmen. Sherlock Holmes
Murdering the Truth
You see, but you do not observe. Sherlock Holmes
In the case of the MSM, it is the truth that is murdered.
If you go to Google and search any recent news event, say Israel's attack on Iran --you will see a multitude of stories saying the same thing. The NYT, WaPo, CNN, the Guardian, MSNBC, Newsweek, BBC, CBC and so on all too often use identical words. Stenography? Journalistic karaoke?
Of course, unanimity of opinion doesn't necessarily mean false reporting.
But it’s the same picture of events, the same presumptions.
I presume nothing. Sherlock Holmes
That's where detective work comes in.
Google algorithms of course give precedence to Western MSM, so you have to research around those algorithms.
You will find (in the case of Israel’s attack on Iran) that the Iranians are saying something different from Israel and the West.
Contradictions are always clues. You need to look at the body again.
Journalistic autopsy shows that the source for MSM reports, which also influences MadM, is the Israeli media and the source for the Israeli media are Israeli government agencies..
Dig further – and you find that MSM reports are suspiciously validated by US governmental sources – so-called "corroboration"-- usually from anonymous sources.
This kind of stuff wouldn't —maybe I should say shouldn't — pass muster in a court of law—not that judicial authorities pay much attention to the law, as we saw in the Julian Assange case.
If you look around, you will find witnesses —people like Bernard at Moon of Alabama, MacLeod at Mint Press, the Gray Zone, my friends at Media Lens, Eric Zuesse, Scott Ritter, Alastair Crooke, Jonathan Cook, Caitlin Johnstone, Patrick Lawrence and many others. Their testimonies are damning. .
Just focusing on a single story in the NYT which parrots a hundred others over 2 years, serves little purpose.
Believe me —I know whereof I speak. I spent years doing almost every kind of media job possible. I rode the Beast.
The Election
Elections, elections. Venezuela, Moldova, Georgia - and that other Developing Country - the US of A…..
Nate Silver, who was wrong in 2016 about Trump losing (I was right) says that the election is closer than a coin flip right now. So he has not come out either way.
This is obviously not 2016. Nor 2020. Harris is not Hillary. Not Biden. Nor is Trump what he was in 2016 or 2020.
Now, the voters are voting not just for Trump but for Trump-Musk-RFK-Vance. Nor are they voting just for Harris but for Harris-Biden-Obama.
That complicates things.
The DNP leaning MSM—which is most of the media—is doing what it did in 2016 and 2020, of course. Propaganda. Russian interference, etc. And Hollywood favors Harris, along with Zelensky and the White Helmets and cocaine. .
Forget issues. Forget policy. The all important thing is looks. Harris has good hair. Trump…well…say no more! They both have breasts, however.
Good hair won Trudeau an election or two in Canada. And he was just as brainless as Kamala—so you have to consider that.
Also, Kamala wears pant suits and looks good in them compared to Hillary.
What I am saying is…it’s a mess!
That said, bookies favor Trump.
And I trust my neighbourhood bookie a lot more than anybody who studied at Harvard.
My guess is that it’s Trump by a hair right now. But that could change over night. Also, I had a Fulbright to Harvard. So my credentials are dubious.
There is only a few things certain. Whoever loses will not accept defeat.
If Trump loses— the Dems will persist in his persecution and you will see the country divided beyond remedy. Lawfare destroys not only justice but the rule of law itself.
If Harris loses, the Dems will resort to their usual political insurrectionism, degrading the political process.
The solution? Juan Guaido as President I guess.
Chappy
Chappy wants to thank everybody who bought him coffee. Ichi too
I will continue sending links to download the last 5 special articles to all those how buy coffees and are not on the list. We— Ichi, Chappy and I — really appreciate the support.
Julian
Whichever candidate "wins" first in line at the hog trough, the real (wanna-be) masters of earth win their power, forever wars, extermination programs, torture for fun & profit, and so on. And we all lose.
I wasn't going to vote but voting for a town ordinance codifying our right to obtain, eat & drink food & seeds directly from farmers via purchase, exchange, barter, trade, etc. at any public venue could matter greatly in the future, so I will.
Since I'll already be there, I will write in my Prez & VP choices: King of Kings & Prince of Peace, respectively.
The liberal-fascist Council on Foreign Relations network has controlled the US govt and media since WW2. See charts: swprs.org/the-american-empire-and-its-media/
Allen Dulles, who ran the CIA "Operation Mockingbird", was a CFR director for 40 years. Media barons Paley (CBS), Sarnoff (NBC), Luce (Time/Life), Meyer/Graham (WashPost) and the Sulzbergers (NYTimes) were CFR members.
Same propaganda, different decade. Google, Facebook, Bloomberg and Reuters are CFR corporate partners. Atlantic, Nation and Time magazines are owned by CFR members.
