Hey, Julian, glad to meet another 76-year old who is ageing young, ASD (self-tested as Asperger), eternal contrarian maverick, who can see what many others miss, etc. In my case a Nicaraguan retired economist (less blind than most of the flock, I think), also trying to see, and to help others see, what’s going on, while trying to learn how to survive in a farm when TSHTF.

Statistics say that only 1% of people are "on the spectrum". However, in hunting & gathering groups, more than 30% of people carry the genes for it, dropping to less than 10% in neighboring agricultural communities. There are main genes involved in the various forms of ASD but principally DrD4 R7 and GARB3. Aspergers is associated with GARB3, which affects empathy and altruism. Aspergers people do not lack empathy as some say but are actually very sensitive to other's thoughts and feelings and "self-principled" rather than socially principles, which makes them APPEAR "contrarian". As you say, they see what others miss. Wonderful to hear from you!

Another contrarian 76er here. It looks like I found my kind of crowd of 3. I like the article, Julian, keep up good works. I am now a big fan of Russia (and feel sad for people of Ukraine that they never found their Putin), but this has not always been so. I grew up in communist Czechoslovakia where we hated Russians as our oppressors, not realizing that they were even much bigger victims of the Jewish Soviet Union than we were. It makes me sad to see how many of my friends and acquaintances in Prague and in America cannot overcome their cognitive dissonance and are clinging to the notion that today's Russia is still the Soviet Union.

P.S. If you don't know of him, I highly recommend Larry Romanoff. Also, I never had any ASD issues and thus I ascribe my contrarian nature to being from family of "late bloomers."

From one old guy to another . great article

As for living in Canada the last 3 years have been a real eye opener. From the start the covid scam never passed the smell test. I originally wrote an email to Trudeau questioning the data from Imperial college that they were using. Instead of getting a reply from he or his office. Maryam Monsef contacted me with a barrage of slogans and propaganda. After 3 different discussions I realized dissent was no longer tolerated in this FREE AND DEMOCRATIC country.

Keep thinking and fighting.

Dissent is tolerated in Canada,--ignored -- as long as it is isolated, and cannot threaten the status quo like the Truckers Convoy in which it is repressed. I call it "subtle fascism".

Forgot to add: father of 8 and grandfather of 10. The farm is mainly for them.

I remember when I first heard this. It made such a huge impression. When I was in Laos, looking to go to Cambodia during the Vietnam War, I realized how real it was.

He was a great artist. 3+ octave range. Right before he died, the opera singer Leontyne Price was mentoring him.

Oi.

Wow! Brazil and Nicaragua. Targets for Anglo (American) colonial thinking! Respect to both you and Noel.
