In my view, Julian is way closer to the mark on this misadventure concocted to appease the Blasphemer In Chief.

One does not need to rely on my measly BS in physics to see it would take a month of Easter Sundays to shift that enriched uranium. Just look at the periodic table.

This is outside my Session-reach.

I am more interested in what happens after Iran refuses the 'Cease-Fire', which is what they will do.

I again cross all my fingers and close me eyes.

Understanding only conceptually - I get the idea that handling nuclear material is not exactly shoveling dirt into a wheelbarrow.

Thank you for that, Julian!

Whatever the facts are about this operation. It's obvious it wasn't all to get 1 pilot out of Iran. Which leads to the obvious in my opinion view. Trump & his alcoholic plastic Christian warrior. Actually believe the Hollywood version of their military is based on reality. They've gave the go ahead for an absolutely ridiculous mission. That they must have believed wasn't ridiculous. Trump let the cat out of the bag, with his very Christian post on Easter Sunday. On his truth social comedy platform. Sorry I thought he was a Christian but I must be mistaken as he mentioned Allah in that post. Anyways he seemed a little ruffled about something. Maybe a massive failure that his Hollywood military failed to carry out. Might be the reason he was a bit ruffled. Never mind the man child is that used to getting his own way, as well as getting away with bullying everyone who doesn't agree with him. He just can't accept the fact that someone won't give him his own way. What does this say about the cowardly people around him? Who dare not do anything but praise him constantly. I didn't realise Americans were so different to the other Anglo countries in their culture. Canadians, British, Australian & New Zealanders. Always have someone who will stand up to a loud mouthed bully. Even if that someone is a female. There isn't a single journalist in America who will confront Trump with his lies & contradictions. Not a single one.

A seemingly obvious question I have not yet seen asked, let alone answered, is why a senior command (bird colonel) was the WSO in the F15. He was not along for the ride. Perhaps this question has been broached or even answered, but I have not seen it yet.

It's happened before in Vietnam. Read the book or see the movie BAT 21.

I think this thing is like most things that happen now. Some details come out and a large number of folks try to make it into something it might not be. It's like the Charlie Kirk killing - tons of folks posted various theories and conspiracies. Which makes for interesting reading and also folks on YouTube, etc, make a lot of money with their click bait titled posts. I really think Tyler Robinson did it, for whatever reasons.

I think you are accurate in what it would take to get the uranium out. I don't think that it is all stored in one, very obvious, location.

I also think that this was what it appears to be - A search and rescue mission for downed air crew.

I'm sure the USA would use every asset available to rescue downed air crews. No matter what his rank is. I wonder if the WSO was really a Colonel or that just is a result of speculations. I read that some folks think he was the master mind of some attempt to retrieve the uranium. Then what was he trying to accomplish from the back seat of an F-15?

I think it was an unfortunate thing that the C-130's got stuck. I'm sure if this was some sort of planned operation to get the uranium that some one would have made sure the airstrip was ok for C-130s to land. It's too important a thing to not make sure it could handle C-130s so any kind of uranium retrieval operation can go ahead.

I think they used the air strip because it was the closest to where the WSO was hiding. I do think all the stories that the WSO hiked over a 100 miles in one day on a sprained ankle or not. I've heard the number was closer to 5 miles. Unfortunately it appears the C-130s nose landing gear dug into soft sand. With no way to unstuck it in the short time available - they decided to destroy the C-130s and Little Bird choppers. Which is a normal SOP.

But I'm willing to acknowledge it might have been something different. The reports that 100 Special Forces engaged in fire fights with Iranian Troops could be true. Or maybe they only engaged them with the Little Birds.

Whatever the truth - This whole thing has the potential to truly mess up the world. With the US and Iran destroying oil facilities in the Middle East - we also have the Ukrainians trying their best to destroy Russian oil assets. I should say Ukrainians and the west/CIA/UK/etc. Plus the lack of fertilizers from both Russia and the Middle East. Our food supply might be in danger.

And if this escalates where they start destroying the water desalination plants I don't know what the outcome would be. I guess a mad attempt to get civilians out of the danger area. I hear food is already a shortage in the UAE and especially in cities like Dubai. They may become almost ghost towns if it gets really bad.

I hope your issue with your home gets sorted out. I also have 2 cats; and 2 dogs. One of the cats only has 3 legs after an encounter with a coyote 2 years ago. He's doing fine and can get around pretty quick when he has to.

Cheers!

We have no idea what it would take to retrieve the uranium. You are basing equipment projections off working on a Japanese road crew? Without knowing what the underground entrance and environment looks like - and we don't - we have no clue. Zero.

Chris Collier's avatar

I think he's pretty accurate in what it would take to get the uranium.

I think they're both correct .. and wrong. And misinformed.

Start with: what was an F15 doing all the way up near Isfahan?

That location is a big flag everyone seems to be glossing over.

Who was this WSO? Why was he there? We've had combat operations recent enough that this Colonel didn't need to insert himself into that plane to "earn" another couple ribbons. (Or, maybe he did. Maybe he was a desk jockey unqualified in the past, and this was his chance. I dunno.)

Those assets used for the rescue being diverted from another mission is plausible. Or maybe they were already ON that mission and the F15 was supporting THEM. Maybe we'll find out in 10-15 years. That mission may or may not have anything to do with the uranium. Hell, maybe they were there to kidnap/rescue some of those scientists.

Or maybe they are part of the package for whatever 'Trump' has planned. I keep coming back to Kharg Island. Logic says that's a diversion. Propaganda. But the one thing Trump likes more than anything, second to attention, is stealing other countries' assets that "will make us really, really rich." ( I dunno who "we" are, but you and I and common Americans aren't in that number.) Plus, he's an idiot. I can imagine Trump, in May, 1944: "The Germans think we're going to attack near Calais. I can tell you, we're not. We're smarter than they are. We've fooled them. We're going to land In Normandy. It will be a beautiful thing. Wonderful ... we'll be in Berlin in a week!"
