A lot of people don't want to talk about what they do for work. Part of this is conditioning. My guess is that your husband is sought out because he can do things that his clients don't understand and therefore cannot do -- and when he tries to explain their eyes glaze over. On the other hand, he probably can talk for ours to others "in the know". I researched this for you.
Any air cargo specialists intentionally keep work talk away from the dinner table. While they love debating logistics with other "freight geeks," they often spare their spouses from the day-to-day grind for a few specific reasons:
The "Eyes Glazed Over" Effect:
To an outsider, listening to a 45-minute breakdown of airport congestion, fuel surcharges, and pallet dimensions is the ultimate cure for insomnia. Specialists know their passion for freight densities doesn't always translate to romance.
Extreme Daily Stress:
Air cargo is a high-pressure, 24/7 reactive industry where things go wrong constantly—delayed flights, customs holdups, and ruined cargo. When they finally get home, the last thing they want to do is relive the stress of a stranded shipment.
The "On-Call" Reality:
Because air freight operates across every global time zone, a specialist's phone rings at all hours of the night. Leaving work talk at the door is often their only way to protect their personal life and maintain a healthy boundary with their family. So while they might be silent at home, put those same specialists in an airport lounge or an industry conference, and they will happily talk about airplanes and logistics until sunrise.
Knowledge is for using, not trying to impress others
For some reason, a lot of readers here observably struggle with the concept that knowledge is for self-utilisation, not for sharing with, educating, or trying to impress others.
READER: Good point about "women seem to only relate to things through themselves" I had a female friend who I thought liked me. But each time I began to talk about one of my problems she always began to talk about herself, without real interest for what I was saying. I always thought it was just her and not all women were like her. If you have not empathy and compassion from your wife, why to marry or have relationship?
SIGMA: Because you probably don't have it either. Most men don't. Are you going to simply not engage in human relations because most people can't read your mind?
READER: I struggle with this because everyone repeat everytime that women are more sensitive and attentive than men. It seems hard to demonstrate in a conversation.
SIGMA: MPAI. Most People Are Idiots. Why would you care what everyone simply repeats without ever once even thinking about it?
READER: Yes. So when a group of people say things like that, do you stay silence or do you have to react to try to fight the stupidity?
SIGMA: I ignore it and keep my mouth shut. I don't argue with dogs every time they bark either. I don’t care what they think and it's not my job to be the reality police. The very idea of fighting the stupidity is itself intrinsically idiotic, given the way in which the most obviously apt metaphor is King Canute trying to fight the sea.....
Why would anyone even bother to listen to your pop psychology diagnosis?? You don't even consider pedophilia as a "REAL" societal issue. In fact, you referred to underage children as high priced whores. Now your comparing yourself to President Putin?? Buy yourself 10 more cats, they will never disagree with you as long as you feed them.
I have found President Putin to be always easy to listen to, HONEST, and WORTH listening to. Framing everything he says and does on moral lines always makes sense of it too - indicating a strong internal moral framework from the man.
I just have to contradict though: my cat, who is HEAVILY on the spectrum (Nearly stillborn, it took my personal intervention to ensure she stayed alive for months until she could feed on her own, and other cats look at her as clearly retarded... but she is a dear, sweet soul. Even the vet said she was one of the sweetest cats she'd ever met when she had to go in for surgery at one point), comes when I call, and will refuse food unless it's very varied meal to meal. And she's over 10, but still very kittennish.
Apart from that, I quite agree. :)
This "2e" thing seems to only indicate a reduced desire for "domination" in the individual, from which everything else flows. If you are familiar with Niall McLaren's work, he argues that a biochemical is a large cause of this desire - although also that social experiences and arrangements can reward this chemical turning it addictive, or reduce the chemical, rewarding empathy and equality.
Pets are as alive and conscious as we are, and do not appreciate being dominated likewise (The heavily trained pack-leadership-bond with their owners of some dogs notwithstanding).
It would be fascinating seeing you interview VVP, Julian.
OK, let's go for the next round of still singing tuna.
First thing: all the psychological attemps of a political personality sketch from "outside" were dismissed as not legit (sure sure need of doctor+test) whatever the obvious psycho in power designed. In the Western world psychiatry is a traditional top down weapon - useless if we reverse the sense.
Second: what a culture which accept a different kind of divergence as its head could convey as message?
Because some questions behind your text are joining the actual ND debate among the LLM users
Can relate :S
Marriage to a man my dear husband for 47yrs.
He is an aviation Cargo specialist sought out by many in the Industry.
He is 83yrs old.
He is married to me Jenny a complete opposite.
I scream and shout at him to "DO" something but he lives in a world that is only grounded in Cargo Aeroplanes.
I ask him at 'dinner' how is the Air Cargo doing in the Western Hemisphere?
I find out that he doesn't want to speak about it: Why?
I cannot get this man to write what he knows on substack.
A fantastically kind man (to me) but a coward.

I would love to. But I am just a small voice in the infosphere.
