The entire population of the United States has been subjected to heaping levels of propaganda from elementary school on up. As a Boomer i was steeped in the legacy of American exceptionalism and that ism is wearing out the planet and leaving dead multitudes in its wake.

I will never forgive the historians that ascribed truth to the accounts by defeated German generals of how the Soviets prevailed. The myth of our military superiority has had ghastly consequences.

So when isms get attached to successful leaders whose only flaw is their refusal to kowtow to the U.S. one must realize that it is merely projection by those that utter them.

Another boomer here, after 9/11 I began to use my common sense and slowly learned the truths under the overwhelming propaganda.I am also very proud of our « REVOLUTION TRANQUILLE » in the 1960s here in Quebec (Kanader). The yoke of church and the ROC (Rest of Canada) was thrown off in just a few years. Now the fight is with globalism and it looks very dim with the parachuted prime minister of banks monsieur Carney. I can’t believe all my family and friends are mesmerized by this election which is run about trumpism and nothing else, noone is interested in knowing some context to understand the historical mess we are in the west ,we are the dumbest of lemmings, might just get what we deserve if we vote for any of the candidates on the list. Now just like down south of us we have a choice between bad or worse.

Yes, the Revolution Tranquille was splendid, as is Quebec -- and motorcycles, which apparently you liked. I used to bike a lot in Japan and travelled all over that way. Then forgot to renew my license and didn't want to suffer through the test again. (99% failure rate --my friend who raced for Kawasaki took it, failed twice, and gave up -- just an Internatonal License, which is not an option for me). I agree with you about Carney and the election. Trudeau was shallow. So are all the others, Carney no different As you say, the choice is "bad or worse"!

Americanism is a red, white, and blue version of Zionism.

It is the US national religion that claims America is a country uniquely chosen by God as the "New Jerusalem in the New World." While Jews are God's chosen people, Americans are God's chosen nation.

In fact, David Gerlernter argues that Americanism is a secular version of Zionism.

Americanism: The Fourth Great Western Religion

However, America is not the New Jerusalem.

America is the New Rome and New Babylon.

Nice work! You cannot understand a conflict without knowing the history, and how and why that history is distorted, hidden, or replaced with fictions.

Thomas Karat does a great job of showing how Western propaganda works 👇

and maybe what you wrote now, is also a part of some cycle ... today's changes will not be eternal, but a wave that will be followed by more difficult times. Life is dynamic, a person also has a dynamic life. We were born into times of change, others do not want to admit it, but in the end they will have no other choice, but evil will be awake and waiting for its next chance ... maybe in 50 years, maybe in 100, but maybe even in 10 ... The Internet has accelerated but also slowed down propaganda, started and stopped wars, but we do not know what effect AI will have on these things, or the accumulated terrifying arsenals, atomic bombs, etc.

Israel has no God, no laws, no rules. They do evil under the open sky, in live broadcast, and their political control extends everywhere. While we are looking at the Nazi war as a gladiatorial fight, the Jews are washing their hands of blood.

The irony is that Zionism and Judaism are two different things, Are the Ashke-nazis actually Jewish: Genetically less so than the Palestinians I think, "Zionism" in this century is partly an American invention, a cultural translation of Anglo American exceptionalism.

Characterizing the Holomodor as a cyclical famine is a bit rich. One has to understand that the Ukraine SSR was created out of thin air by the Bolsheviks, who were Jewish, Ashkenazi, from Khazarian lineage. They wanted the Ukraine SSR to be depopulated of Russians, German settlers, and borderland Russians (aka Ukrainians) so they could establish their old Khazarian homeland in a messianic state (a Soviet). Ultimately they focused on Palestine and created “Israel” so the Ukraine was not as important, but never forgotten. The obsession with Ukraine in the Jewish-controlled West, to the point of destroying economies and militaries to arm and fight to the last Ukrainian and kill as many Russian as possible is for the same reason, to depopulate the Khazarian homeland and make it ready for the New Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the Holomodor has been weaponized by the Jews as a foundational myth of Ukrainian Nationalism, projecting their crimes on the Russians outside the region. Hence this strange Ukrainian Jewish neo-Nazi alliance that is the Ukrainian government since the color revolution in 2014.

A friend of mine, who is a trader, asked me how the data on the Putin diagram was calculated, where it comes from. Is the GDP inflation adjusted for example? Do you have the source info please, Julian?

World Economics estimates Russia's 2024 GDP at $7.582 trillion in PPP terms (https://www.worldeconomics.com/Concepts/World-Economics-GDP-Database/) and an initial estimate of $7.688 trillion for 2025. This figure is 26% higher than the official estimate published by the https://data.worldbank.org/.

World Economics' methodology incorporates crucial factors often overlooked in official estimates, such as:

The size of the https://www.worldeconomics.com/Concepts/InformalEconomy/: It is estimated that 26% of Russia's economic activity occurs outside the formal sector.

Outdated https://www.worldeconomics.com/Concepts/BaseYears/ data: Many countries use outdated base years for their GDP calculations, leading to an underestimation of economic growth. Russia uses a chain-weighted GDP base year.

By adjusting for these factors where required, World Economics provides a more accurate picture of Russia's true economic size and potential.

For reference, offical data reported Russia's GDP as $1.582 trillion in 2015 constant prices and $2.098 trillion in current prices for 2024.

So, "Stalin was not quite the monster he is now seen as..."

You state this about a man who ordered the execution of nearly 22,000 Polish POW's in Katyn and elsewhere... There is plenty of evidence for this massacre: the execution order was found as well as the bodies, and the crime was later admitted by the Soviet authorities.

There is no accounting for tastes, but, as far as I am concerned, for this crime alone Stalin may very well be called a "monster."

Excuse me, but I strongly object to the notion that the Katyn massacre was committed by the Soviets. Goebbles has written at length in his diaries about why they fabricated this propaganda lie two years after they had conquered the respective area from the red army. MP Viktor Ilyukhin revealed 2010 how the Jelzin administration had those alleged 'original' documents forged and made part of their campaign to slender the SU and please western powers and NATO.

Herman's avatar

The Katyn mass murder was officially recognized as a stalinist crime by the Soviet authorities themselves, before Yeltsin.

Expand full comment
strasser's avatar

Yes, maybe, in 2010 they made the Duma vote on it, why Ilyukhin came forward with its revelations. It just doesn't mean anything, if an anti-communist, anti-stalinist administration attributes something to their ideological enemy...

Chrustchev lied about Stalin, as did Gorbatshev.

But even, if it would have happend as western histiography wants us to believe, that would still not make Stalin a 'monster'(tm), otherwise there wouldn't be a single statesman at war who wasn't. Not Churchill, not Roosevelt, not Napoleon, not Tamerlan, not Caesar, not Alexander... this moralization is just so damn stupid.

Knowing the real history and background of a country , region or people often goes a long way towards understanding them. This is not something encouraged by rulers - especially in the west. I've been having a bit of a mission lately trying to get people to actually study what happened in Korea the last hundred years - it might help them realise a bit better why things are as they currently are.

Then of course, there is the other situation of having to explain, that knowing and understanding what happened does not mean you automatically agree with what is currently happening, in our binary limited western 'culture' of today, which precludes debate and understanding!

The key word is "binary". Either /or, Black / white. 1/0 . Fast/ slow, Since I am autistic (like you!) I do not think that way. Nor do I think it is "natural". It is something used to ensure conformity and regimentation in large-group hierarchies,
