"It is also obvious that Russia would not “combat test” a missile in these circumstances and use it to threaten Europe, if it did not have adequate supply, perhaps 50 to 100 missiles."

No doubt about this.

ATACMS need American specialist to launch. SCALP and Storm Shadow require specialist help to set up for launch. Targeting is primarily provided American and British aircraft and ISR.. From a Russian point of view, therefore, the Americans, British and French are co-belligerents. If they have bases in other countries --those bases also become legitimate targets.

Why would anyone sign on to work on such launch systems? They have to know that it is only a matter of time before they are snuffed out.

IF a supposed power puts sanctions on another power?

What happens?

Each Country which has had sanctions placed on it by the SUPPOSED superior power.........what do these countries do?

They do not

''back down' from the bullies.

They develop their own country and weapons.

IF anyone thinks that sanctions work: Take a look at the world. Iran specifically.

I have watched 'weapons inspectors/analysts ex-CIA people expound on why Russia is at the forefront now.

THE fact is that: while the USA was promulgating wars in other countries they forgot to look at their own defunct weapons systems.

WHY is it that the USA cannot produce the same?

It's very simple.

Education.

The education system in the USA is defunct.

GO ahead USA and place your defunct weapons against other Countries!

I am in Europe and I believe this (in my gut) that Russia will NOT take out Europe? Why? We have History with Russia which goes way back before the USA even emerged. We do NOT have History with the USA.

I could be wrong BUT even the Nazis did not take out Paris.

What Americans do NOT understand is that (even though the Europeans have been puppets in the hands of the USA) we have a History in Europe.

Personally I am expecting (in Europe) FALLOUT.

By this I mean that if we want our 'lifestyle' to remain we do NOT support USA.

Forget the BRITISH EMPIRE. They are done courtesy of a 'supposed' Labour Leader.

I despise the Europeans for going along with the demise of the Palestinians.

HEADS will fall here in Europe.............the first will be Van der Leyden.

Eventually in Europe we WILL do business with Russia and China.

It is happening now.

You're absolutely right about the US education system. Julian addressed it very well. While other countries produce engineers and scientists the USA produces MBA's. I'll add Liberal Arts Degrees, women's studies, gender studies, DEI, ESG and CRT.

In my opinion:

You are correct to a certain extent.

While the Americans were fighting ALL THIS CRAP (what people do in their own lives is nothing to do with Government). Liberal elites made this their cause.

Didn't matter to the US people that wars were fought in other countries IN THEIR NAME.'GET off your huge arses and take NOTE of what you do.

How many countries have you screwed up in the name of Democracy! US is NOT a democracy and never has been. Greed is the name of the game. Always has been.

I don't give a fuck what Americans think is important in their Society.

@JennyStokes

Actually, Hitler gave very specific orders that Paris be destroyed rather than let the allies capture it more or less intact. Only the deliberate disobedience of top occupying German military commanders prevented Paris from being razed. There were several German torpedo & naval mine factories hidden in Paris with many tons of explosives the Reich had no other uses for and plenty of troops to carry out Hitler's order. Only the common sense (and morals) of Gen. Dietrich von Choltitz prevented Hitler's order from being carried out. See: Is Paris Burning? for details (The book, not the movie).

That’s exactly the corner THEY are in now!

Every move the west has made against Russia has led the west to the same symmetrical position they tried to place Russia in. Putin is the geopolitical judo master.

This is fitting because the west projects its own sins onto Russia as well - everything the west accuses actually describes itself.

I have two words to describe Russia's flexibility and military prowess. Those two words are Escalation Dominance.

The most important strategic concept of paramount importance is to hold the Moral High Ground. Because of it's acts the Hegemon has lost power because it lost the Moral High Ground.

The Zionist State suffers a similar fate and it was an Israeli Jewish Professor who warned his nation about it. The Professor is Martin Van Creveld considered the West's greatest military strategist.

In the eyes of the vast majority of the emerging Multipolar World Russia and China have taken the Moral High Ground. The results are the SCO, BRICS+ and BRI.

Creveld is a brilliant historian and Clausewitz theorist but not really a "strategist" , as (say) John Boyd was. He is also an Zionist and defender of the Israeli genocide.

Julian Macfarlane's avatar

He is, however, the only non-American on the US military's required reading list! JHe is notable for calling the Second Lebanon War a great "success", defending expulsion of Palestinians from Palestine and saying that Israeli genocide in Gaza is not nearly as bad as what the Americans did in Vietnam (50,000 dead bs 2 million) The difference, of course,is that the Americans did not explicitly target civilians, hospitals, etc and the dead were accumulated over almost 2 decades.

What is happening clearly is: The USA is falling apart because of: Lack of decent Education/interfering in civilian lives. ie abortion etc.

SO what does the US do?

Start wars to keep the people 'in line.'

As a counterpoint, we in the west can also witness what happens when a country’s leadership cares only about enriching itself at the country’s expense.

Reply to: In the West, such systems take at least a decade – usually more—sometimes two.

Not fighting words... Do you rely believe that Putins engineers thought of this? Why do Hyundais look like other cars produced in the prior two years? Every corporation, country and government spy on each other. Sure USSR took time to build it, but where did they get the ideas from someone that spent millions and took time to develop it for a decade... Look at the Chinese "designed" J-35A. It reminds me of something. I remember the Concord also the Space Shuttle and their replicas that failed. So...congratulations on such a fast development of Oreshnik. And, you're welcome.

I also wanted to comment on how in the US things are so backwards when it comes to "Imagine the President of the US States meeting with the Department of Defense leadership, and...." but I just don't have the energy to explain how dictatorship works and those who have an different opinions either end up jumping on there own from windows or somehow end up in a frozen labor camps.
