We don't really know the outcome of U.S. elections because the vote-counting process is not transparent. In most cases, the counting is delegated to computerized machines, which can be hacked without us knowing. This is the nature of the computer systems used. The best way around this would be to use paper ballots, cast (in the vast majority of cases) at the precincts on election day, where they would then be counted in public. The continued refusal of the major parties and of Congress to make such a change indicates that they like things how they are, and do not want any actual challenge to their power.
And even if the vote-counting process was entirely transparent, it wouldn't solve the issues of voter suppression and gerrymandering, which happen at a higher level and are just as bad if not worse. When the leadership of a party can easily sabotage primaries by opening too few polling stations in areas leaning towards the unfavored candidate, and goverment officials can literally change the outcome of local elections by redrawing electoral district borders on a map, counting the votes transparently is meaningless like slapping a nice cool sticker on a rusty hole in your fuel tank. The whole American voting system is _designed_ to facilitate fraud, let's face it.

Am I the only one who finds the routine accusations of Other Guy Stole The Elections incredibly silly, boring and repetitive? I mean, it seems their PR agents must be former Hollywood screenplay writers, it's the same exact shit repeated over and over with a few minor changes, we're watching yet another reboot of a remake of a horse beaten to death over and over and over. Heck, after Star Wars and the MCU, Stolen Election might be the third largest overused copy-and-paste franchise with a regular release of yet another ridiculously expensive, poorly acted, terribly written and shittily directed episode.
Yes! I had thought of that myself, choose Congress by lot, it would be the purest expression of democracy and eliminate any whiff of non-representation. One might argue that professionalism would suffer but you could limit the lottery to willing citizens who passed a competence test. I think it definitely work.
In Italy, the M5S party tried to change the Electoral Law, made many years before by the corrupted, now President of Italy, Mattarella, it is called Mattarellum... it says it all!
One of the main things of that law was to limit the participation to only 2 mandates, and receiving the pension only for the effective time they spent in the Parliament.
But another worst one was recently: this “second/third generation” of M5S MP supported the actual Government in a difficult moment, to give more help, arms and money, to Ukrainians as the Legue wasn’t supporting it.
That tells me the level of corruption that after the famous and respectable First Generation of M5S Mp, has permeated that Movement erasing all of the principles was build around. Can’t forget that when they won the Elections in 2018, the day after the leaders were invited by the US Ambassador, guess what he told them! xD
Recently there was some talk in the US Congress about enforcing term limits for the supreme court, my first reaction was "Excellent idea, and what's good for the goose is good for the gander!" Someone probably brought this point up and we have heard nothing more on the matter.
