US to Iran: please don't hurt us!

So Orlov says...

While I was researching materials for Part 3 of my Special Article for coffee buyers, which focuses on what I believe is the inevitable collapse of the American union, I ran across this interview, with the notably polymathic Dmitry Orlov who moved to the US at the age of 12 and studied computer engineering and applied linguistics and went to write a lot of books.

His book, published in 2008, is called Reinventing Collapse. It suggests that while the Soviet Union underwent a soft collapse or crash, the US will experience a hard one due to five, intrinsic systemic issues—economic, cultural, social, political and ecological.

That collapse will turn everything upside down.

When faced with a collapsing economy, one should stop thinking of wealth in terms of money. Physical resources and assets, as well as relationships and connections are worth more than cash and those who know how to "do it themselves" and operate on the margins of society will do better than those whose incomes and lifestyles have plummeted . As a Russian-American, Orlov, has a unique perspective of what happens when an entire society crashes—he sees things through the lens of experience.

He can the fundamental flaws of the US of A as a military industrial state.

The function of the US military is to intimidate other countries into letting the US buy whatever it wants by printing US dollars as needed…Once their ability to intimidate the world into submission is gone …; all that will remain of the "richest country in the world" is a pile of worthless paper. When precisely that moment arrives is anyone’s guess, but you shouldn’t need to time it exactly provided you can plan for it. I recommend that you do so—if you haven’t already.

Orlov believes that when the US crash comes, it won’t be pretty. So he has voted with his feet, moving to Karelia in Russia. When the US collapses Russia will be just fine. And Orlov too.

As I mentioned, Orlov is a polymath and if you go to his site, you'll see an amazing list of books on all sorts of different subjects – including houseboats, technological issues, community and the like. That doesn’t mean he is right in any or all of his theories— just that he sees things that others don't. Food for thought. Cognitive nutrition.

Among other things, in this discussion with Dima, Orlov asserts that “Ukrainian” is just another Russian ethnicity. Ukrainians are Russian! Ukrainians are as different from Russians as New Yorkers are from people in Ohio.

He suggests that, despite Western propaganda, there is enormous support for Russia in Ukraine—and when the NeoNazis regime collapses, many “Ukrainians” will welcome Russian troops with open arms. Doesn’t sound like what we read, right? But could he be right. Why not? Russia is growing and prospering. Europe is drowning.

Americans expected the Japanese to fight to the death in WWII. But they welcomed GIs after surrender, eager to become Honorary Americans.

There is a lot of evidence of Ukrainians helping the Russians in intelligence-gathering and otherwise collaborating. And, as Orlov says, they are really Russian. Not Poles. Not Germans. Not Americans.

As Orlov indicates : who, these days, would want to be “Ukrainian”? Only Sean Penn.

In fact, who wants to be American?

He similarly argues that in the Middle East the US is just engaged in face-saving, making money for its military industries, and waiting for Israel to self-destruct.

As Michael Hudson points out, America is a failed sate with onlyu a few industries —military materiel, drugs, entertainment (including news) and (exploitative) real estate. It is a house of cards. That depends on the dollar as a reserve currency. Should the US lose in its military and economic wars—that house of cards collapses.

Now, the US is on the brink. It no longer has technological superiority in weaponry. Not even nuclear. In the ME, it is defenseless against Russian, Chinese and now Iranian hypersonic weapons.

“Please don’t hurt us”, Nothing so direct, as Orlov says, but they are between a rock and a hard place

American support for Israel is compromised which means that the existence of Israel itself is.

The "Ukraine" is collapsing. Israel is collapsing. The US is collapsing.

The question is not “if” but “when”.
