I think Tara Reade did the right thing, staying in Russia rather than returning to the US to be tortured, spied upon, and possibly prosecuted and locked up for being a Joe Biden's sexual assault victim who spoke out. If my ancestors hadn't come to this continent over 40,000 years ago, I wouldn't want to stay here either. I want these fascist, warmongering genocide-supporters to get out of my country NOW.

And one of the main points of this excellent article has always been right in front of everyone’s eyes, though amazingly obscured at times by incessant propaganda: that’s how corruption coupled with western manufactured internal strife pitted Ukrainians against each other, leading to self-destruction of a nation manifested first by the murders in Odessa and the Donbas. We forget that this is Ukraine vs itself rather than Russia, just as the west tries to foment conflicts and chaos by creating myths of Sunni vs Shia, or Arab vs. Persian, etc.

Out of curiosity, how does one just move to somewhere like Russia or China? I had to get a visa to the place I am now and there was an age limit on who can apply for it. If and/or when it runs out, I am back to Europe which is no bueno. I'm guessing it's being a skilled worker or having lots of money.

I’m glad Nima has had Orlov on his program quite frequently. In Reinventing Collapse Orlov also explores the way in which the racketeers who ran the late Soviet industries were enabled, with western help, to assume ownership over state assets built by the soviet people. Therein lies the origins of the Russian oligarchs. Pretty much criminals every one. Same for Ukraine, but with one big difference: Ukraine has further fostered its oligarchic corruption whereas Russia had the good fortune of having this Putin fella shut them out of politics (a long and ongoing process).

Regarding the domestic culture of the USA, the quotable Orlov refers to the current generation of citizens as a bunch of “mollycoddled nincompoops” lol.

America is just Israel on steroids, as they have both have the same Sampson mentality: If we go down, we will take down the world with us.

The Israelis are threatening to detonate a regional war as their society collapses, while their American allies are tacitly threatening to detonate a world war as their own society collapses.

Psychotic minds think alike.

Ian Welsh, (https://ianwelsh.net) a long time blogger, has for years predicted the collapse of the United States. He is not alone, but his takes and predictions about contemporary events are frequently accurate. Julian and Ian have some advantages over others in that their points are made more succinctly than say Greer or Orlov for the time pressed.

What I think will be the paramount political battle in the U. S. is the following: How to deal with the aftermath of the asset class inflation bubble our lovely financial wizards have created that has allowed them to suck up even more assets. Forget about the money! It is those assets that need to be clawed back. To achieve this claw back is going to precipitate new thinking about property rights in the U.S. Those property rights headwinds will be tough to overcome.

I think that the future of the U.S. does not have to be horrible. The U.S. is not entirely stripped of natural resources. Labor arbitrage is not a Natural Law. Within decades life here can be very pleasant. It will require however a dedication to conservation and an abandon of the get crap delivered fast ethos that pervades our social structure today. Step one, to me, is eliminating the Republican and Democratic parties' lock on ballot line access.
