I don't see why Canada needs to defend itself from anyone. Just like the UK, France, Germany... Australia, New Zealand... none of them needs anything but a small army, a small coastal navy, and a couple of squadrons of jets and helicopters to support the soldiers and sailors if necessary.

NATO is an absurd anachronism whose only purpose is to line the pockets of the arms manufacturers and give failed politicians a place to grandstand. If they all stayed home and minded their own business, they'd never come within 1,000 km of Russia or China. Or Iran.

Great piece! Of course Trump has never gotten his stats correct, not even with out closest neighbor.

The current problem with Canada is the Trudeau government, which will hopefully go the way of the DoDo bird.

One error in the piece however... Goebbels did not use the "lie" in his propaganda and instead often used the truth. And he did not invent the "Big Lie". That was a British invention...

Current problem with Canada is they have no backbone like most of the West. Join BRICS.

I understand that Canada provides a large amount of electricity to the border cities and towns in the USA. Turn off the electricity...have some balls!

I've actually been attacked by a Canada Goose as I inadvertently walked too close to their nest. He/she jumped on my back as I walking past, put it's feet on my shoulders and smashed it's beak into the back of my head! Luckily I was wearing a parka, but it still freakin' hurt. I was like, 'WTF, dude?' It was a BIG fucker, too!

Canada geese are no joke, dude! LOL

But, yeah, BRICS would be cool. Unfortunately this country is run fucking imbeciles, so that ain't happening. Anyway, I'll be moving back to Thailand soon enough, so not really my problem after that 😁

Geese are extremely aggressive defenders of there territory. Many years ago, Hiram Walkers in Windsor, ON, used domestic geese to patrol their whiskey storage facility grounds. No one dared go in there for fear of being attacked. Perhaps, there is a lesson there for President Trump.

Canada, the willing vassal state who threatens whoever NATO tells them to, who exploits its own people and freezes their accounts during protests. I see no reason to entertain the idea their government should be defended. Let Pierre Poilievre dismantle the entrenched oligarchs, and rebuild a sovereign, free Canada

Well said! I think Canada should tear up all contracts to buy American-built jets or weaponry. Tear up the NATO contract while you're at it. Boycott American products as much as possible. And then join BRICS. I think it would be beneficial all around for Canadians and eventually for Americans after they throw over this corrupt government.

While Canada has allowed itself to be ruled by the Globalist poster boy. It's more vulnerable than it's ever been. The Canadians have been treat as bad as their British cousins. Real cousins not the false narrative of American cousins that only British politicians spew. There's always someone in British citizens conversations, who has a family member in Canada or Australia for that matter. I don't know a single person who has any relatives in America or who are American. Proves who's arse our brown nosed lying politicians are crawling up. Like the Canadians our politicians are a national embarrassment to our countries. For all Trumps faults & total fantasy speak. At least he's got one ridiculous plan or another for his own countries advancement. Our countries rulers don't make any decisions. As a result, they don't do planning for anything. They've got no vision for anything in our own countries. They get told what to do no matter how negative effect it has on their own countries & citizens. We end up getting yet another lunatic American President talking complete fantasy about how fantastic America is, how every other country is at fault for America being a banana republic. Our politicians don't know how to respond as they have no capability to think by themselves. Great leadership indeed. For Canada to give the amount of money it is to America for that F35. Smacks of total corruption. It's the worst example of a fighter aircraft needed for Canada, even if it did work. It makes no sense whatsoever. Trump badly needs to get his own countries house in order. Before mentioning foreign countries. Its looking like he'll succeed in saving at least a trillion doars a year from being thrown everywhere but America. Whether Americans benefit from that, not just the top 1% remains to be seen.

Maybe Canada doesn't spend much on defense because:

1. they don't see the boogeyman around every corner, also

#1. They don't see forever wars as a viable future?

Unfortunately, Quebec

LOL... Partly true. But it's a little more complicated. I'm from BC, which got a lot of Americans during the Gold Rushes -- but now is very polyglot with a very large Asian population. Hence: "Hongcouver" for Vancouver. However, the Indian population is growing fast; there are lots of Vietnamese, Koreans, and Japanese. Part of my family are from Nova Scotia, They are gaelic-speaking scots--both Jacobites and UELs (United Empire Loyalists). They hate both the Americans AND the English! Complicated . Newfoundland? Ummm....17th Century English? Dunno,.. Can't understand a word of the local dialect. Alberta is the most American of provinces. Lots of rightwing American refugees, Mormons, etc. Manitoba And Saskatchwan? Lots of europeans of all kinds ...and Metis. Yup, one big, unhappy family, Kinda like the US.

Agree. I have always enjoyed my visits and have been to all of the provinces. I was in Quebec City with my wife in August, 1970 shortly before the kidnapping and murder of Pierre LaPorte by the FLQ. Tensions were high in the streets, with candlelight marches and the singing of songs in French with a religious like fervor. I thought Canada was toast back then. (I am 81 now).

Hia Julian !

I know it is not on topic,

but its hot from the frontlines in Ukraine.

And we did exchange thoughts about the subject. I suggested the attack to the Black Sea Coast would start, when the fall of the last resistance in Donbass was certain. This was before the Kursk madness. The last 'US-AID' from the Biden-Admin and the British 'City of London' was on the day before yesterday totally exterminated by the Russians in Kursk. So the time is there.

Source: Video from 'BORRZIKMAN', a Russian source.

1. Text:

The Russian Army is preparing to enter the Dnipropetrovsk region not only from the east but also from the south.

The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the abnormal activity of Russian troops in Zaporizhzhia direction of the front.

It is reported that the Russian command continues to pull the most combat-ready and experienced units into the Zaporizhia region.

Everything that is happening indicates that the Russians are preparing a powerful strike in the south of Ukraine in order to take control of the entire northern part of the Zaporizhia region with further entry into the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Earlier, Ukrainian Army Colonel Vladislav Seleznev stated that the Russians had concentrated a 120,000-strong army in the Zaporizhia region. And that this army is led by an experienced general Mikhail Teplinsky whom even Russia's enemies consider an invincible military genius. Throughout his entire military career, this Russian general has not lost a single battle. Thanks to this, he won the respect even of his enemies.

General Mikhail Teplinsky develops offensive operations very carefully, paying great attention to intelligence data. As a result, even during the offensive, his units suffer minimal losses in manpower and equipment. Military experts are confident that it is General Teplinsky who will lead the liberation operation of not only the Dnipropetrovsk region but also of all key cities of the Nikolayev and Odessa regions.

My dear truth seekers, if the Russians launch a full-scale offensive in the Zaporizhia region, it will be a real disaster for the Ukrainian command. The fact is that the Ukrainian Army will have to defend itself along the entire combat contact line, which is already 200 KM longer than the WW-1 Switzerland to Belgian-Coast frontline.

As a result, the Ukrainian generals will lose the opportunity to carry out maneuvers with reserves, which will inevitably lead to the final breakthrough of the front and the mass flight of Ukrainian soldiers and officers.

The (Planned) Canadian America War...

America’s plan to wage war on Canada in the 1930s:

As the Great Depression started in late 1929, the🇺🇸 military drew up a top-secret project titled “War Plan Red” a scheme to wage war with🇬🇧GB.

The plan stipulated that all the destructive power of 🇺🇸 would be directed against 🇨🇦CA...

(I just found out. And the plan was never started.)

PS. I recognise it as a failed attempt to fight the Monster in The City of London.

I was in Vancouver with my youngest son, just before the Covid debacle got launched. A lovely city with agreeable people. From what I gleaned, the city/Canada has become so expensive <<link>>that the average Canadian has to commute 90 minutes in from the hinterlands for work. Nice of Justin to offer the Chinese carte blanche so they can invest in Canadian housing. Screw the citizens he's supposed to represent. Same happening here in the Land Of The Free (/s).

As James noted in the comments here: "Welcome to Absurdistan". I agree and it totally helps to just throw in the towel and give up. I finally got my new hat from Amazon with the boilerplate: "Make Greenland Great Again". I will wear the hat to punk my liberal friends who think the world has ended with Donald at the helm. While I voted for neither Trump or Harris, I plan on having a rousing good time with the outcome. Easy for me to say at age 73 and pretty close to the finish line. Oh, and apologies to the kids and grandkids. Yup...we really, really fugged up.

For any who care, Greenland is 50x larger than Denmark and has a population smaller than Eau Claire, WI. How will the Danes fight for this real estate if provocation graduates to more than a snowball fight?
