Nice approach .

We evolve by thinking differently to adapt to what we have created / environmental change so I’d say this is where the change is happening .

within us.

To say we are offloading what we do doesn’t reflect this new paradigm.

Appreciate your fun at writing novel approaches.

Julian, we urgently need to take another look at the situation in Europe. NATO is goading Russia into an attack in order to provoke a war. If they keep this up, they’ll succeed by summer.

I recommend reading Thomas Röper’s website. He’s on the EU sanctions list, so he’s absolutely trustworthy. He’s just written several articles on the subject that are well worth reading:

https://anti-spiegel.ru/2026/die-chronologie-der-provokationen-der-europaeer-zur-vorbereitung-eines-krieges-gegen-russland/

I was blocked from this site, which I eventually accessed using a VPN -- through Andorra. There was nothing new there for me since I have been following the issues from other sources, but he is a must-read insofar as he puts everything altogether in one place, so it is easier to see the connections. NATO needs a war with Russia to justify its existence, which has only one purpose - war with Russia. Rabid mice trying to provoke a cat.

Julian, thank you very much. I’d really like to hear your opinion on this. Whether Putin would get involved in a war with NATO, or how he might respond to contain the situation and avoid a war. One thing is clear: if they block the Baltic Sea, he’ll have to respond.

Unfortunately, this is a consequence for Russia, since Russia was far too hesitant at the start of the war. He should have reacted against the EU back then. That’s why Karaganov is calling for a nuclear test or even dropping an atomic bomb on Europe, so that they finally regain their fear and respect for Russia. But that will be futile with this leadership in the EU. Unfortunately.

Russia has a war plan with NATO, same as the one USSR had. It calls for eliminating all non nuclear NATO members, and occupying the radioactive desert. Russia will suffer years of radiation poisining and economic hardships as well, mainly from mobilizing millions to “clear” the desert. It has no intention of responding tank for tank or plane for plane the way silly Rutte or Van der Layen think it will. There will be no polish or german mobilization and gearing up for war, some NAFO libtards think will happen. It will just be anihiliation. This is why Russia will wait till the last moment, and make sure that nothing can be done anymore, to stop war with NATO. That was USSR’s plan, and that is Russia’s plan almost certainly. In the meantime they will ignore provocations, small economic damage, and light damages in the hope they’ll get Ukraine without ww3. If not, then they’ll be satisfied they did all they could to avoid it. This has more to do with russian spirituality than geopolitics. Geopolitics would dictate to use any number of provocations as casus belli and nuke aĺl NATO(again maybe with above mentioned exceptions ) and establish hegemony over Europe.

"And the[y] have already struck at desalination plants"

If you are referring to the recent attack on the Kuwaiti desalination plant, then, please mind that the IRGC rejected the reports saying that Iran is behind it, blaming Israel instead: https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/iran-denies-targeting-kuwait-desalination-plant--blames--isr

Yes, I saw that -- AFTER I had posted the article! Oh well....

"It’s like a parent blaming a kid for doing what they are told."

Or, like an alcoholic father blaming an alcoholic son for being an alcoholic. It just runs in the blood (pardon the pun! lol)...

Also, Julian, I've always hated those Uni graduate hats, kind of subconsciously knowing of their symbolism of "squaring your circle" (i.e. head), or bluntly put indoctrinating you, at least in a certain field.

(Though, the levels of what Jordan Peterson calls agreeability to indoctrination pertaining to similar fields are generally much higher with "highly educated" people. A golf clap to (((their))) diseducational system pushing and promoting Tier 1 reasoning skills!)

The grad hats? You're RIGHT.!! The symbolism. Your brain in a box.

Don't forget that LLMs - especially the ones based on OpenAI - are a commercial product, made for profit (something Altman desperately needs in impossible volumes) and the sycophantic attitude is a quick, cheap and dirty solution to lure in potential customers. It's also an extremely shortsighted, ineffective solution which leads to factual and reputational damage in the long term: bootlickers never offer valuable counsel or expertise, instead blocking actual useful feedback from arriving to destination.

Garbage In, Garbage Out, and it gets even worse because

a) any system is necessarily a simplification of reality: a 100% accurate system would require both clairvoyance and omniscience: so even "good" data may translate into "not good" results

b) the OpenAI LLM system is *not* designed to offer a rational, factual answer, but to influence users into becoming customers: "good" data gets translated into "garbage" results, not accurate but biased toward an objective, gaslight someone into forking out money.

All in all, it's not unlike asking for tips on how to maintain your car from a dishonest, desperate used car salesman.

To your statement: "Like it or not, AIs are evolving minds" I wholly reject! My response: AI cannot, will never be able to cognate. Please read, study the work of Sherry Turkle of MIT especially 'Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from Each other' Frankly Julian, all that you seem to detest in this world is tied into your " Like it or not, AIs are evolving minds." Again, AI will never have the ability to cognate no matter what anyone says or believes! God, I just so love my extensive library.

"LLMs are known to “hallucinate” or confidently present false information."

Well they would do, they're made in the US 🙄

BTW, the answer the AI gave seemed perfectly clear to me. Having written that, I'm not advocating for it at all in it's current state as it is and will make us all slaves.

Given behaviours observed among competing groups of primates, one might question the concept of warfare only being ten millenia old and a product of competition for resources owing to climate change.

Julian Macfarlane's avatar

You are talking about chimpanzees - not primates as a whole. Our closest relatives -- bonobos -- do not kill their own. This notion was originally spread by Stephen Pinker, the loony Harvard pseudo evolutionary psychology on the basis of his conversations with Wrangham who spent so much time with chimps that he became one. There is almost NO evidence of organized warfare in the Pleistocene. Violence, yes. But not warfare.

Well-done yet again Julian! I love the connections between neurodiversity and non white feminism and functional AI. It makes so much sense!
