The Israelis continue their attacks on Hezbollah. The latest today was an attack in which an F35 fighter launched missiles at an apartment were Hezbollah’s drone force commander, Mohammed Srur, known as Abu Saleh, was staying.
Earlier, the Israelis had killed Hezbollah commanders Ibrahim Qubaisi and Ibrahim Aqil .
But most of the casualties in Lebanon were ordinary people, women and children.
Eliminating Hezbollah’s commanders in no way degrades Hezbollah's ability to fight since there is always a successor, .trained and ready to take over. Hezbollah's command structure has considerable redundancy, as a result of Israeli tactics which have remained the same for many years. No one is indispensable.
When a leader dies he becomes a martyr – a source of inspiration— motivating his surviving followers.
Targeting civilians in Lebanon also does not diminish Lebanese support. But generates new recruits to Hezbollah's cause— just as Israeli terror tactics in Gaza and the West Bank have generated support for Hamas and the resistance.
In the meantime, Hezbollah continues to bombard northern Israel with rockets. However most of these rockets appear to be unguided, without precision homing, as was the case with the missile fired at Tel Aviv the other day.
Why? When Hezbollah as precision weapons.
Hezbollah rockets are normally fired in volleys—which the Israelis try to shoot down with their sophisticated air defense systems.
An Iron Dome battery has 20 Tamir missiles. Each costs just $50,000 to $100,000, the Israelis say. Katyusha rockets used by Hezbollah are quoted at $300 . Shall we say $3000? Inflation, y’know.
To deal with a volley of any size, Iron Dome, which is about 80% effective, must fire off two batteries. That’s 40 x (say) $50,000. $2 million .
However, it’s not the cost that counts — it’s depletion.
Anyone can do spreadsheet math-- but it is obvious the Israelis will run out of ammunition at some point.
While Hezbollah is getting rid of old, bargain basement (WWII!) Katyusha launchers in its armory, it is building up supplies of precision munitions using Iranian technology.
As you can see, they are inexpensive and can be produced quickly.
In 2006, the Israelis tried to invade Southern Lebanon . It was pretty much a draw but Israel was humiliated Hezbollah then has 15,000 rockets and missiles. Today it has 130,000 of many different types. It is prepared for anything Israel can do.
An incomplete list….
The longer the conflict goes on, the weaker Israel becomes economically, diplomatically . And militarily . The more time Hezbollah has to prepare.
Right now, Hezbollah keeps up the pressure firing cheap unguided rockets at Israeli military and industrial facilities while preparing for an Israeli ground offensive which the Israelis will have to launch— despite the IDF ( at least) knowing it will fail.
The Zionist government has convinced the public— and themselves— that they cannot lose —God is on their side.
The side of the Damned? .
Birthdays
My birthday is September 28. Yes, I am a Libra! Can’t you tell?
The last few years I have had a lot of challenges. Birthdays weren’t always happy times.
This year is different.
I have gotten so many nice messages and well wishes from so many people who bought me coffee. Others too.
This song was written by Mark Pritchett, who was David Bowie’s lead guitarist and co-song writer once upon a time.
Mark represented me in an attempt to get back some portion of investments a small fortune that I've been cheated out of by a trusted advisor—I thought a “friend”— leaving me with no money for retirement.
Our efforts were unsuccessful. Mark and I became good friends.
He not only gave me the title for my book “Ageing Young - You’re Never Too Old to Rock and Roll” but the song, too, foce, his lyrics — my graphics.
Most important of all he gave me hope . Hope is what you guys give me too. Remember that kid….?
He was unfailing trusting. And he never really grew out of that. As I said, the child is the father of the man. What was most important to him was love and friendship and human feeling.
From the bottom of my heart I thank you for reaching out to me. I am humbled. Those messsages…..
I almost cried. (Old guys can do stuff like that —get all weepy and creepy).
Thank you all.
Oh. That dirty cabal of supremacists. Cold calculating Jewish elites.
Here. From that armchair NYC Jewish writer, Sy Hersh. Whew. He too is cold. Calculating. Just another bat mitzvah exceptionalist.
All about Adolph Netanyahu's fascist supremacy. The Jews support Samson Option. Gangrene is their creed. Amputation and decapitation the only solution for these Antony Zyklon Blinken types.
Quoting Hersh,
One way to understand the dramatic events of the past week, and the restitution of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political standing in Israel, is to recall a famous statement of Admiral Ernest King, the US chief of naval operations throughout the Second World War. As the war neared its end, so the story goes, King was told by an aide that a group of reporters wanted an interview with him. “When it’s over,” he replied, “tell them who won.”
It could be Netanyahu’s motto today. I was surprised to be told recently by a well-informed official in Washington that things had changed dramatically in the war in Gaza—in Israel’s favor. There is no longer a possibility or a need for a ceasefire in Gaza, the official said. I further learned that ceasefire talk had been muted because, obviously, there is now a renewed Israeli war against the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon. Amid the continuing carnage, Bibi’s standing inside Israel has soared as the death toll in Lebanon has risen. ...
Even without depletion or degradation of the Iron Dome, Hezbollah has enough armaments to inflict SERIOUS damage... side note, Happy Birthday!
