Will Greater Israel include Syria?
Syria’s new Islamist government has —or rather had —been trying to curry favor with the Israelis. Apparently not too successfully.
The Israelis see the HTS head choppers as Turkish proxies. What they want is simple: control over Syria using the Kurds and the Druze. It reminds one of American history — divide the natives and conquer — and give them reservations.
So it was when HTS forces attacked the Druze in al-Suwayda city, raping and killing as is their custom, Israel saw an opportunity to posture as the “good guy” (for once) with air strikes on Damascus, including the Presidential Palace -and also in Daraa. Oh, and they killed some HTS commanders — a first.
There are about 150,000 Druze in Israel with Israeli citizenship. The Druze in the Golan, however, despite offers of Israeli citizenship, have mostly rejected Tel Aviv. 80% regard themselves as “Syrian”.
While Druze in Israel are 1.5% of the population , they are twice that in Syria . There are more in Lebanon. Thank Mr. Sykes. Thank you Mr. Picot.
Israel is taking steps to take control of southern Syria to “protect” the Druze. The Druze are thankful – they don’t want to be controlled by the Head Choppers and their Turkish backers , who they remember only too well back to the Ottomans.

But neither do the Druze want to be controlled by the Israelis.
The Kurds are, of course, in a similar situation.
Do the Israelis care what they think?
Not at all. Nah. They care about as much as the Americans cared what the Mohawks thought back when. The Mohawks got the message — and moved to Canada and helped defeat the Americans at Queenston Heights in 1812.

Of course, the Turks don’t care what anybody thinks. A good thing since they don’t think anything through anyway.

What i will add here to your short but true summary/analysis of the Syrian Drama is my pointing at the planning of the fall of Assad, the finalising of a regime-change that started around 2011.
1. Slow Regime Changing is the preferred way of working of the Monster in the City of London, where the shadows lie, and the Evil Lies and Narratives are being brewed. Preferred over the brute force of destroying a country to cause that (Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan). The American Muscles show more and more weakness and fail too often and Trump amplified that trend.
2. The Assad-government fell on the correct time to help the attempt by the Israel-Tentacle (hoping it would get enough support from the American Zionist Tentacle) in the Regime-Change attempt on Iran (a long existing project). As did the recent regime changes in the Caucasus and the India-Pakistani war, to remove Pakistan from choosing side with Iran, as they still did, with some help by China...
3. The distributed power in its tentacles is sometimes causing tentacles to fight each other, like the Turkish/Caucasian one (the CIA / Fethullah Gülen heritage), that created the ISIS-tentacle and the Israeli tentacle that used to work together with each other in the Syrian War.

I did hear, not so long ago, that according to some analysts there's high chance of a major conflict between Israel and Turkey in the next 5 years. As of now it seems the Israeli plan of using the Druze against the Turkish-backed jihadis has failed (nothing new under the sun: Israel did use Lebanese militia to do the dirty work in 1982).
