"Nothing appears more surprising to those, who consider human affairs with a philosophical eye, than the easiness with which the many are governed by the few; and the implicit submission, with which men resign their own sentiments and passions to those of their rulers. When we enquire by what means this wonder is effected, we shall find, that, as Force is always on the side of the governed, the governors have nothing to support them but opinion. It is therefore, on opinion only that government is founded; and this maxim extends to the most despotic and most military governments, as well as to the most free and most popular".

- David Hume, “Essays, Moral, Political, and Literary. Essay 4 : Of The First Principles of Government”

I agree that Trump is a shyster, but the red cult that think he was bright here as a messiah will accuse you of being in the blue cult for saying as much

"Trump is better than the alternative." True, but that is such a low bar, and we should have our sights set away above a Trump. Sadly, there is nobody decent that would want the job much less have a chance at getting it

Trump is better than the alternative? Impossible to know so invalid to claim.

Bizarre to hear these accusations against Trump after the last 4 years of the Biden crime and grift family, who intentionally trashed the USA & Europe & Ukraine for their own personal benefit.

Fifty shades of grey. Fifty shades of Biden. Fifty shades of Trump.

Wolff and Hudson have become my joint end-of-week favourites, along with Johnson and McGovern on Judge Napolitano's Roundtable.

Wolff and Hudson are the most incisive overall. Johnson and McGovern? I love them. Johnson for his shirts and dogs. McGovern for his beard.

About computer problems. Had a lot of those, but almost none was related to hardware, mostly it was by shitty software from microsoft. Solution: go with linux and get peace of mind and more sleep. As you have 2 computers why not first migrate 1 to linux then at least you have 1 working. I recommend linux mint, have used it hassle free for 18 years now. https://linuxmint.com/

I have also used Mint (see comment above). So much nicer.

I would love a dog. Of the dogs I used to have my favorite was a half wolf husky with a fuck you attitude.

You just should meet Lil-Shaam, the naughty Rottie girl. For an older Human she's the best to stay physically fit. No meds needed 😁

Recommended version of mint is xfce, easy on the computer resources and no flashy stuff. I can guide you via zoom if needed.

I have used Mint before and also Manjaro. Love them. But they do not run the advanced dictate progam which i use and need because of my mangled right hand. Wine won't work for this. I could run it in virtual windows-- but that still means running Windows for most everything. Sigh. I managed to get things running again after a couple of hours with a little help from a Russian hacker.
