When the great White President was assassinated Malcolm X said that the "chickens" had come "home to roost." I'm not sure that wouldn't be considered insensitively "hateful." Those were such ugly times perhaps his aggravating and hateful diction was appropriate. Thankfully, we live in much more advanced times, so ingratiating courtesy and white lies need never be disturbed by unpleasantries.
This is an interesting and insightful comment. Especially: "Thankfully, we live in much more advanced times, so ingratiating courtesy and white lies need never be disturbed by unpleasantries."
I don't think "the chickens had come home to roost" was "hateful". Ln Malcom's view, shared by many others, Kennedy was assassinated because of a corrupt system which could not tolerate his liberal views. Malcolm's comment was about the system, not the man.
