It seems there is something wrong with with the link to the Southfront video on Israel’s attacks on Syria.
I have fixed it! You can access it (and the article) here. Or click on the photo.
Southfront is looking for support right now. I don't have any money to donate these days. so I donate my time doing voiceovers for them.
I don't always agree with them, of course. And on occasion I have refused to do a voiceover if I didn't agree with the content—the last time being an article on Greenpeace-- who I also do voiceovers for on occasion – when I agree with THEM (I don't always!).
Southfront always respects my opinions and positions and are willing to talk to me about them. They are honest, sincere people. Truth-seekers. Not ideologs.
We need more people in this world like that.
Imagine if there was honest dialogue— in which people actually listened to each other—and considered alternative points of view!
In my discussions with Southfront people, I am sometimes wrong—sometimes right. When I am wrong, I learn something—so I'm indebted to them! When I am “right”, it is always conditional,
Imagine if our so-called "democracies" functioned on the basis of mutual respect and honest dialogue and dialectic.
Maybe a lot of what we think are the world's insolvable problems could be solved—not overnight of course-- but we would be able to see a roadmap.
Imagine hope!
Instead, we have things like the Biden-Trump debate—which Trump appeared to "win" – although you could not say that Biden "lost". The real losers were the American people! Hobson's choice indeed! A senile sociopath versus a sociopathic narcissist. Both in the thrall of AIPAC, both indifferent to genocide. Not that RFK is any better!
The thing about the debate was (yes I know I digress!) it was not a debate. It was just two nasty old men trying to score points against each other— indifferent to facts or the truth—both mostly in agreement on everything that counts. Two flavors of ice cream-- but still ice cream. Enjoy your salmonella!
An entire nation with the runs.
What can you do? Don't eat the ice cream— no matter what the flavor. Support Southfront. Support the Duran. Support New Atlas. Larry Johnson. There are many, many others.
Support Jill Stein.
Support Ichi
Of course support me too!
I'm hoping for a few more coffees before the end of the month to help me pay for Ichi's new "friend".
Shelters here in Japan do not provide rescue animals for free because they spend a lot of money on food and vet bills. So when you adopt rescue animal, it usually costs at least $300.
With the downturn in business here in Japan, almost no pension, in the loss of savings I had intended for retirement, I am not exactly wealthy. Fortunately, I am a minimalist and don't need much. I get by as the saying goes, "with a little help from my friends".
So buy me a coffee so I can buy kibble for Ichi and his new BFF. Click here to buy a coffee or on the photo above.
"Imagine if our so-called "democracies" functioned on the basis of mutual respect and honest dialogue and dialectic".
That would indeed be wonderful! But in reality we have to deal with a small but decisively influential percentage of people who are much less interested in truth - or even mutual respect - than in huge piles of money and the power to make everyone obey them cringingly.
To those people, mutual respect and honest dialogue are merely irritating - though not insuperable - obstacles to getting what they want. Julian Assange has just experienced what they would like to do to everyone who gets in their way.
Somehow, in the "enlightened" West, we have managed to construct political and economic systems that unerringly select those antisocial people - who would be generally avoided if not expelled in any sensible society - and put them in charge of everything. Largely because most of the broad masses actually admire them.
That could be gradually put right if we educated our children correctly. Unfortunately, those very nasty people also control the educational systems... And although they are morally horrible, they can be (and often are) very clever, with a very specialised kind of rat-like cunning. The human brain can accomplish a lot when it is freed from all the duties associated with morality, culture, and mutual respect.
Julian writes, "Support Jill Stein."
Dr. Stein has my full hearted support. Thanks for plugging the one sane candidate in the race!
Criminally she is not in my state's ballot. If research shows that my write-in vote for her will not count then I'll be sitting this 'election' out.
The duopoly needs to be removed from their chokehold on ballot line access in every state.
