Julian, there is great anxiety over whether Hezbollah is abandoning Gaza. The NYT is reporting that Israel destroyed Hezbollah. Sources here on Substack say Hezbollah pushed Israel back. It’s very hard to see clearly. Do you think Hezbollah has backed away from conflict with Israel? I am seeing comparisons to Algeria, that it took decades to drive out the French. Is Algeria a proper comparison?
Don’t the vast majority of Americans, like at least 90% of them not think there govt has spent way too much time and resources on pointless ‘peace proposals’ etc to do with Israel? It might have been easier to just have taken them in from the start.

It was always easy for America: just stop the money & weapon flow.
Same goes for Turkey, for all their blustering, they should just stop (and enforce the embargo) the trade with "Palestina". (for those that don't know: the trade with Israel collapsed, but the one with Palestina raised by the same amount in that time... So guess what happened!)
If those 2 would have done that, Israel wouldn't have had any other choice then to have given up like 10 months ago.

That is going to take a horrific fight. Palestinians are making the sacrifices that are required when the fight is about individual and collective dignity. The people of Lebanon are also going to have to make decisions regarding what they are willing to sacrifice just as the Vietnamese, the Koreans, Chinese, Algerians, and South Africans have done, and the colonized peoples of the U.S. must do.
