Could it be that Ichi has 猫エイズ? Sorry, I live in Japan too and I haven’t looked up the English term. My partner lives in Ishigaki-jima and her native Yaeyama cat (which looks strikingly like a much smaller version of an Iriomote Yamaneko) is 18 years old and has neko AIDS. The vet said there’s nothing he can do. Our strategies are: mixing in manuka honey with her food once a day; mixing a small amount of Ivermectin into her food once a day; using a dropper to give her high-quality Brazilian propolis a couple of times a week. All of this helps reduce inflammation and boost immunity. The neko AIDS causes severe ulcers in her mouth which makes it painful for her to eat. She has gained weight and is eating more. Maybe Ichi’s problems are not similar, but you might want to consider these kinds of strategies. Best of luck!

I was writing a little bit on psychopaths yesterday. Realized the label is as much in the eye of the beholder as in the subject. And what is the opposite of psychopath; perhaps a sage or a buddha?

And then I realized, when my cat Keseva visited for some strokes: an animal! There are neurotic animals, but not psychopathic animals; it's a uniquely human skill and certainly learned to some degree: consider after all, the Jewish state.

Keseva and I send Ichi good vibes.

Agree about BMA and its succinct , sensible take on the War.

He has human feelings as we do.

Loved the film clip for it tells the story no amount of writing can convey.

The woman who asks when is the power coming back on after being assured if they leave everything will be fine?

‘Animals help us realise our humanity’ - beautifully put - so, so true. They have been one of the best teachers and therefore one of the greatest treasures of my life. I am beyond grateful for their love. I hope Itchi recovers ok. Sending prayers and good vibes.

It has taken me 70 years or so to become "almost human".

Ichi looks like one of my cats, Chase, that sleeps on my chest at night, damn him ....

All cats are HF autists. Like us. I don't sleep on my back. So Ichi sleeps in my armpit. Another autist? Occupy, too....
