Great stuff! I feel that Julian and I have led similar lives and come to similar conclusions. I too am in my 70s. I have lived in Russia for 30 years. Before that, I was a student in the USSR for 1 year. And before that, I was a coal miner in the North of England. I have been married to a Russian citizen, a Muscovite, these past 25 years, who has borne me 3 wonderful Russian children. Living on the "inside" looking at the "outside", as it were, at the so-called "free world" with its "rules-based" order, one has a rather different perspective as regards how the righteous "free world" looks as compared with how it is represented to the free-born citizens of the West, such as are my fellow countrymen in Merry England.

Most of my cousins on my Mom's side were coal miners in Nova Scotia in one of the world's last gaelilc speaking communities.

This is my first time here and I got here through the link in your comment on Larry Johnson's site. You, Sir, are a freekin gem!

You wrote a top notch article and it's much appreciated. I'm familiar with Boyd and appreciated your Bruce Lee quotes. I believe your assessment is spot on.

I'm trying. And I am getting a lot of useful advice and criticism from people. Of course, there are trolls, mostly on Facebook.

I, too, clicked through from Larry Johnson's blog, and am glad I made the trip. Thank you for an excellent article.

The wailing from NATO and EU leaders about Russian drones and their threats to hit Iran are a direct result of the NATO "helpers" on those HIMARS, radar systems, and other expensive NATO tech getting liquidated in significant numbers now...with little recourse. They are in the crosshairs and their gonna have hard time hiding their losses back home. All those compliant Russophobic former USSR states are gonna see the real NATO guys die, not just their Ukie conscript proxies and Nasties. Better still, less NATO forces to use internally against the cold, hungry people of the NATO/EU+ partners when they take to the streets this winter and next spring.

Thanks for that. I also post on Facebook where I get a LOT of trolls. On facebook I do a lot of posts of articles that I find when I am researching my own. I don't necessarily agree with the articles entirely but I look for points of interest. I noticed early on that Facebook was more Fake than Face. So I wanted to stimulate some discussion, although I know that the FB interface is not really set up for that. Then the trolls came out of the woodwork. I don't mind disagreement or criticism. As I've said, I get things wrong sometimes. But I don't get reasoned or informed criticism for the most part. Depressing.

Thank you so much for these comments which are not only intelligent and accurate bu make me feel a LOT better1 My trolls are not all the kind of roaches you see, coming out of hiding on sites such as MoA, whose supporters squash them joyfully. Some yes. But others are people that I have met and know, usually registered Democrats for some reason of, in the case of Canada, liberal voters. I have unfriended some of them. when they began attacking othe people. (they can attack me personally-- I don't care!) For years I have been posting articles from the "alternative media" to stimulate discussion. My job here in Japan requires a lot of trans-cultural media analysis. At 76 I have not pension to speak of so I need to work to feed my two cats, Ichi and Jet. To work, I need to get things right. As WaPo says but does not allow, "The Truth dies in darkness".

Thank you for your kind comments. Nice to see empathy on the Internet! I don't feel bad about non-retirement. I think life is a gift. And I am lucky to be alive. I know a lot of people who weren't that lucky. I love writing. And I can still make money as a Media Whore (LOL!). Not a lot. And I have this site and my Ageing Young site to try and back. As I said, I have been lucky. And a lot of people helped me. At this age, I want to do something meaningful that might indirectly help others.
