In regard to the paying off a hooker comment - Hillary kept lawyers on retainer to deal with Bill's conquests, in order to pay off/intimidate/discredit them. The women were labeled "bimbo eruptions" or something like that. I always remember that pretty much anything the Dems accuse others of, the Dems are doing themselves, likely much harder.

I think the only thing to say here is: Will Trump be Inaugurated?

I think he will. It almost seems like, through the tears, the Dems might be happy to hand off the huge festering mess they have made. It does seem like other countries are reaching out now, just in case, though.

Also, I was a lifelong Democrat, until Bernie got screwed over, and now I do not care for the entire lot of them.

What does this mean: "Other Countries are..................?"

Well, Putin says they can talk, Zelensky is nervously dancing, the EU seems nervous, so does NATO. Half of the UK is thrilled, the people running things are furious. Many many countries have congratulated him. Iran says hey, we have not forgotten what you did. People seem to be taking him seriously. That is just IMO. Biden said peaceful transition, and I think any attempt to block him will go very badly.

Hi djean.

OF course Europe is nervous! I am here and to be totally honest, the French do not 'get the plot.' Seems I am always the outsider in all 4 Countries I have lived in.

New news..........Yemen has attacked Israel.

I am pretty damned certain this is the beginning of ..........nuclear war.

Imagine a small country (having been bombed by the Saudis/Americans) pull this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Israel is getting a LOT of incoming missile traffic on a daily basis. Not just the Houthis. The thing is that Hezbollah and the Houthis are targeting military installations only. So easy for Israel to lie about the damage.

I think Iran said that war may/would come to the US.

That's great about living in four countries - I have worked and/or vacationed in a bunch, but never got into politics except for when the Danish folks I was teaching a software class to said they would be sticking with their own currency, as they did not want the EU in charge of their money. And Copenhagen was where I walked past a very small demonstration, more CNN folks and trucks than anything else, turned the TV to CNN International to see what was going on, back in the hotel room, and CNN said it was a big demonstration, and were filming up close so it looked like a hundred people. There were 10 at the very most. Never believed a word they said after that.

Too many folks have nukes. Including the US. I alwys thought Macron would like to nuke Russia just as much as Zelensky does. Seems like a vain little Napoleon wannabe.

Iran was talking about US bases in Iraq. Not the US itself.

Macron is a 'lame duck' right now.

He did not do what the people wanted in the last election. Aaaarghhh.

I like asking questions. No person ever answers them.

Why is that??

I want to learn.

Thanks, good post. I don't think what we were seeing is really a massive rightwing realignment, however. We can talk about third parties, but since our duopoly openly lawfares against them and essentially monopolizes the vote, the only protest vote with teeth is tipping the scales to one side or the other. Candidates who talk to your needs look better then those who pretty much refuse to. I don't think there is anything particularly left or right about it, voters are simply tired of having their needs ignored.

Even after days of recriminations and blame, the Democrats still only think in terms of messaging, not in terms of what have they actually done for people. All that a few will admit is that they did not talk to the people about things the people are concerned with. The disconnect is bizarre.
