Here is something to fill in the gaps or at least add context – if not highlight how so much ‘history’ is either false or outright projection (the perpetrators/winners write the history).

Poland is readying to protect itself from the Russians as they realize the abject failure of Nato to conduct this proxy War ? Polish elections are in October.

Stepan Bandera did not lead the slaughter of Poles or Jews in 1943, as he was in a German concentration camp (as well as both of his brothers), most of the time in solitary confinement. Obviously he was also not a Nazi collaborator. The slaughtering by the OUN was led by Mykola Lebed, who later was adopted by the CIA and moved to Pittsburgh to run Project Aerodynamic.

The camp that he went to was known for cruel and inhumane treatment of prisoners. But he got special treatment, His ideology was identical to that of the Nazis. In most respects-- except one-- allegiance to the Nazis themselves. to Hitler. He wanted to be Ukraine's Hitler and that precluded that kind of allegiance. Or so it seems--unless I am misreading history--Which is always possible.

In January 1942, Bandera was transferred to Sachsenhausen concentration camp's special prison cell building (Zellenbau) for high-profile political prisoners such as Horia Sima, the chancellor of Austria, Kurt von Schuschnigg or Stefan Grot-Rowecki[73]: 212 and high risk escapees.[74] Bandera was not completely cut off from the outside world; his wife visited him regularly and was able to help him keep in touch with his followers.[75] In April 1944, Bandera and his deputy Yaroslav Stetsko were approached by a Reich Security Main Office official to discuss plans for diversions and sabotage against the Soviet Army.[76]

Bandera's release was preceded by lengthy talks between the Germans and the UPA in Galicia and Volhynia. Local talks and agreements took place as early as the end of 1943, talks at the central level of the OUN-B began in March 1944 and ended with the conclusion of an informal agreement in August or September 1944

I only look at Wikipedia to see what the propagandists want me to believe. I'm surprised that you apparently think it's a reliable source.

What's your actual evidence, from reliable sources, that Bandera had any role in organizing OUN activities while he was in solitary confinement in a concentration camp?

Meanwhile, it's quite factual that Mykola Lebed, the CIA asset with a Jewish name, organized the massacre of tens of thousands while running the OUN-B in Bandera's absence, yet he gets not a mention from you. Is it not obvious that maybe the CIA would prefer you blame Bandera?

I think your characterizing Bandera as a Nazi and 'wannabe-Hitler' is bizarre, and with no basis in history. The present-day Nazis in Ukraine share a common origin with Hitler's Nazi party: backing by London, New York, and the elite Jewish establishment. And the purpose is the same: to draw in the population of those prone to nationalism, in order to destroy them. So who are the real Nazis; the ones who create the phenomena, or the naive who get sucked into it?

Bandera was an enemy of the real Nazis, as well as an enemy of the Soviets, and that's why he spent the war in a concentration camp, and wasn't protected by the CIA. And that's why he's blamed in the fake history books. He was a nationalist who wanted his people to be free from the centuries of oppression by invaders, and he wasn't willing to let the Germans or the Soviets continue the oppression. How does that, in your mind, make him a Nazi?

I agree that Wikipedia is unreliable. I always check the sources and other sources.

The lori's bite explains why you're on substack. Just following the evidence...

Poland has done well. It got the US military, so some locals inherit more power and bucks. It still has to get the territory it wants, which is helped if its in conflict with Ukraine. But that doesn't mean the final verdict is in for its current hesitation. It could be simple leverage.
